Also looking at Washington (vs NYG), and Denver (vs Tennessee) as my primary choices because they're both at home while the AZ/NO game is in New Orleans. I generally prefer taking home teams. One snafu though is that Denver projects to be a very good fantasy defense, so I'm guessing people will target them a bit earlier than the others.

I’m beginning to think the NYG might be better than most think this year. They’ve looked well coached thus far, and they have a few weapons. It comes down to Russ. I really like the NYJ def in week 1 as well going up against PIT with Rodgers. Dude is done, and I’m just shocked that PIT brought him in.

I couple sacks and takeaways, I'll be ok with 7 points, give or take, with an outside shot at a return TD. Of course, it is a division game, so that could backfire. lol

I think nearly every single draft pick the Cards made this year was a defensive player. I do think there was a late round pick for an OT or something, but its nothing to write home about. this whole draft went into shoring up the D. and while the D was nothing special last year, it was ok. maybe a bit better than average. if only one of those drafted this year turns out to be a difference maker the D should be top 10 or close to it. if two turn out to be difference makers, this Defense could be the fantasy surprise of the year for team defenses. Ive made no evaluation of the rookies so I cannot tell you what the likely scenario is. but usually defenders taken in round 1 of any draft are plug & play defenders. so probably at least an average to above player in his rookie year. but what I will say is most of those defenders taken after round 2 likely start to make an impact next year. so Next year is more likely the year to own the Arizona Defense. Not saying it cant happen this year. like I said, other than the first round pick, all you need to do is hit on one.

defectivesupport 8 Posted August 26 Cards (vs NO) and Wash (vs NYG) are the main "obvious" picks for week 1 streaming due to their opponents being projected as 2 of the bottom 3 scoring offenses (with browns being the worst). Some other interesting options, though: Vikings (vs bears). Bears allowed the most sacks of any team last year but have attempted to upgrade their line. Vikings have one of the better run defenses so the bears will probably be in a lot of passing downs. Low floor but high upside play. Raiders (vs NE) - NE is the media Cinderella this year - however, this isn't reflected in most of vegas projections for week 1. Diggs is still fresh off an ACL injury and their WR behind him are not breakaway receivers. Douglas is slot and then you have a hodgepodge of rookies and underplayed veterans. NE also still projects to play Stevenson at RB over Henderson for a large portion of carries, at least early season, so that is even less explosiveness for NE offense. Add in that LV has quite a good pass rush. Another very high upside play.

WhiteWonder 2,845 Posted August 26 Denver is often the top DST pick so if you’re a streamer they won’t work for you. I don’t usually stream to start the season in the sense that I’m not worried about having Arizona over, say, Seattle who was a very good D last year and yeah playing San Fran but at home. … because with 3 game preseason and starters playing next to nothing, offenses will be sloppy for a lot of mid level teams and it may take 2-3 weeks to identify which teams to stream against. yes, NO will probably be one. Probably the Indy Jones’.
weepaws 3,237 Posted August 26 Going into week one with the two I drafted , Redskins Vs Gmen, I think Gmen will be productive, don’t like that one much, but Redskins are at home. My other team I drafted the Texas Vs Rams, with Stafford back issue that might pay off. Don’t like taking a road def, but not much available at this time.
