Waiver order ideas with sports?

Anybody got or have heard of any creative ways to do a random waiver order tied to sporting events this weekend? 12 team league so the Preakness only has nine horses? Don’t see a golf tournament this weekend either. Just looking for ideas.

Waiver priority holds a lot of value.  Not sure why anyone would not want the first waiver priority set as anything other than reverse draft order unless it’s a 100% dynasty league where you only draft rookies.  But I digress.  There are tons of college football games this weekend.  You could simply set up a free league on one of the daily fantasy sites if your state allows college fantasy.  Pick a slate and set order by how everyone finishes.

My league tried the blind bidding system last year - for a 20-year league that never changes anything, I was shocked it got enough votes.

Everyone seemed to like it over the old waiver order system, so I doubt we'll ever go back.

Let me try this again since none of you actually answered the question and just said oh well this is what we do in our league that wasn’t related to my question.
 

We just need to set the waiver order, not the system, was trying to see if there was a fun way you guys may have heard of to pick who lands where. Was gonna do the horse races, but there’s only nine horses at the Preakness.

I did answer your question bruh.  Use college DFS.  Another option to consider fun and sports related:  head over to your closest elementary school, hang out on the playground until recess, then ask 12 little kids if they want to race for the piece of candy in your pocket.  Creative enough for you?  Wow!!!!!

Why would it not just be the reverse order of the draft?  Why make it random?

Not crying at all. Just a common issue on forums. People half read the question and just want to interject their own stuff they do in their nothing to do with the question. 
 

If I was actually going to cry about something, it’d be how moronic it is yelling the county your team plays in as a team chant. Everyone in the NFL as fans thinks it’s stupid and clown you for it.

I think just random draw of a hat. We found some random ass sailing competition that we might use. Just because it’s so ridiculous. I don’t know just something different than reverse order. I don’t know.

 

(yes I know we should go to auction bidding. It’s a league that’s now or 25 years old. Guys are kind of set in how they wanna do things unfortunately)

Personally, I think auction bidding is something that people do, when they think they're smarter than everyone else.  They choose to ignore the fact that if you're in an actually competitive league, you all know the same information and the only thing separating you from being 1st and last, is luck.  If these people were so smart in the first place, why do they need a FAAB budget?  They should've drafted those players when they had the chance, right?

Anyway, I think @JagFan's idea was a good one.  Have the league members do a daily fantasy lineup with the college games this Saturday.   How they finish is the waiver order.
