I didn’t comment on it, I just presented the video of what she was saying.

I regularly used to push back on this stuff - Iraq1, Iraq 2, Syria - where liberals would claim that the US was just acting for the profit of the oil companies. Statements like that, & the behavior of this President, make that claim really hard to argue against here.

About your response above, I really wish you’d said we were acting to take down an oppressive regime, restore democracy, combat narcotrafficking.

Empire building. Using the military might of the US to steal and control natural resources from a sovereign nation an another continent so private US corporate interests can swoop down and cash in. 

I was told over and over and over that MAGA wants peace. No more wars, no more boots on the ground. The Dems are violent warmongers, Trump was the way to lasting peace. Now the mooks are fully on board invading another country without provocation. Who coulda seen this coming? :sarcasm:

It’s completely inconsistent with the supposed Trump stances on Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan & ‘forever wars.’ It’s going to cause a hell of an immigration crisis if they go all the way as well.

However Russia sent bombers & Wagner paramilitary as far back as Trump1. Iran has sent armaments as well. Which btw is an important factor because our fist waving at Venezuela has just generated excuses for the very footprint we’re discussing now. Trump had to be restrained from invading in 2018.

My opinion is that, currently, Venezuela is run by an illegitimate, illegal & corrupt government. It's leader is in bed with cartel's. It is also my opinion that without any interference from the US, Russia, China & Iran have their sights set on both Venezuela's natural resources & establishing a military presence to wrest control in the Caribbean. I don't care if you think it's about oil or drugs or whatever.......the things I mentioned should concern EVERYONE.

Thanks. I'll take your word for it on the armaments our adversaries have sent, that makes sense. No doubt Russia is keen on maintaining the flow of oil from Venezuela. I do not believe that an actual military presence in the Caribbean is on the table for any of these actors, though. If the US has no qualms with blowing up random boats, we sure won't have an issue with taking out cruisers or aircraft. I don't know what any of those nations would gain by getting military assets that close to the US mainland, other than a thorough ass kicking.

Are you saying it isn’t about oil? Isn’t oil a major “natural resource” that you’re saying China and Russia have their sights set on?

TBH, I don’t really have a huge problem with military action there, but it’s of course not a “nothingburger” as was previously claimed.  I do have a problem however with claiming it’s about drugs when it’s really not (again, thanks for admitting it isn’t), or nonsense like people claiming that Trump is the “peace President.”
