Texas FURRIES bill seeks to stop 'non-human' behavior 🌈

Recommended Posts

The proposed piece of legislation aims to target students who exhibit "any type of behavior or accessory displayed by a student in a school district other than behaviors or accessories typically displayed by a member of the homo sapiens species."

The prohibition extends to "surgical or superficial means" of features that are non-human, such as:

Tails.

Leashes, collars, or other accessories designed for pets.

Fur (other than naturally occurring human hair or a wig made to look like human hair).

Artificial, animal-like ears.

Barking, meowing, hissing, or other animal noises not indicative of human speech.

Licking oneself for the sake of grooming.

Using a litter box for the passing of stool, urine, or other human byproducts.

It’s messed up that this needs legislation.  Bullies took care of this crap for decades.

AI Overview
Internet rumors claiming that schools are providing litter boxes for students identifying as "furries" have been widely debunked as hoaxes

. Despite the false premise, Texas State Representative Stan Gerdes introduced a bill in 2025, titled the F.U.R.R.I.E.S. Act, which targets this non-existent issue.

Details of the debunked rumor
  • The hoax's origin: The false claim that schools are providing litter boxes to students who identify as animals, or "furries," gained significant traction on social media, particularly among conservatives who used it to criticize public education.
  • No supporting evidence: Rep. Gerdes introduced the bill despite acknowledging that he had no firsthand evidence of litter boxes being provided in schools. News outlets and fact-checkers like Reuters have confirmed there is no evidence of such accommodations in Texas or elsewhere.
  • Contradicted reports: When a school district in Gerdes' own area was mentioned in connection with the rumor, the superintendent personally walked the campus to confirm there were no litter boxes.

I think this is a waste of time. I agree that students shouldn't be allowed to express this stuff in school, but we need to quit relying on the government to legislate everything for us.

You keep stacking law on top of law from both sides, then you won't be able to walk out your door without breaking some stupid law.

At the end of the day, fock the government. I still don't trust them. The issue of politicians sucking hasn't just disappeared.

There are real issues in the world and they are wasting time with this.

But I guess people are still stupid enough to believe the litter boxes lie over and over and over.

If we had 49 more Greg Abbott's. This country would be so much more better off.
