This doesn't make any sense.  He wants to send the subsidy payments to the consumer?  Ok, how does that help?

Or is he suggesting that the govt gives money to everyone so we can all buy insurance?  Wouldn't this just be single payer with a middleman being the consumer?

Obamacare is a cheat code for the insurance companies. It's fraudulent. 

It's essentially a cash grab for the insurance companies. It helps nobody

Instead of paying down the deficit as Trump planned, now he wants to reimburse Americans for the high prices he caused with his taxation-without-representation tariffs.

If that happens - which it unlikely won't - the whole thing would be a wash that pizzed off the whole world and cost taxpayers god knows how much to set up the tariffs collection system. Plus, the $2,000 will spark spending and cause more inflation.

Which is what they did before, for those with pre-existing conditions who they actually offered policies to. I had a pre-existing condition and was unable to get affordable insurance until the ACA was passed.
