Week 13 Power Rankings

Recommended Posts

Not doing it this week. I'm on vacation and didn't watch any games yesterday as I spent the entire day driving.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone from the Smoky Mountains in western North Carolina.

One team from the Bears, Lions, Packers, Seahawks, and 49ers isn't making the playoffs and that team is Chicago. Meanwhile, the entire AFC should be praying the Jags and/or Houston make the playoffs and KC is locked out. Chargers could collapse. The AFC North is only getting one team: Baltimore.

Not sure I agree with that.  Yeah the Bears are winning ugly, but they are winning.  The Lions looked terrible Sunday and needed a 59 yard field goal to even force OT.   This against the hapless Giants.  Now, if the Lions play well and win Thursday, my opinion will change.  But right now,, they don't look good at all

The Bears season is finally getting real. They've barely beaten up on crap teams all year and have Eagles, Packers, Browns, Packers, 49ers, Lions left on the schedule. That's one win left in the tank and maybe another to get to ten.

The Lions are likely too banged up again this year to make a full playoff run.

So if the Lions win ugly its big trouble.  But if Bears win ugly each week vs bad teams (pitt at homr with rudolph isnt a bad team but meh)...its "well thry are winning".

Not understanding the logic.

By all means teams dont change week to week that much.  Yet everyone overreacts to everything.  Bills were back when they beat the Chiefs, then lost to Phins so sucked again, thrn were back again handling the Bucs, then all of a sudden suck again because they lost on road to Texans.  Its hilarious.

People also overreact if a supposed good team wins but struggles vs a "bad team".  Everyone acts like upsets are unheard of in the NFL.  Yet they see it each week.  But cant imagine certain matchups being close games.

Wow....You OK?   Just my opinion.   I don't think the Lions are very good right now.  They play GB Thursday and still have the best team in the NFL right now, the Rams upcoming.  It ain't easy.  So yeah, based on how they are playing, I can't see them getting in the layoffs.  Again, if they show up against GB my opinion will change

Take it easy big fela.

The Lions are doing a new partnership with Feeding America on Thursday, so I'm looking forward to that

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just listing what the oddsmakers are saying.

But there is some outliers you must consider when looking at odds, such as teams like Cowboys and Raiders having such widespread fanbases, they are typically bet on more than bet against, I would assume :dunno:

I could see the Bills and Pats difference this year being your mainstream fans would typically assume the Bills are better.  Doesn't mean they're right.

just going through the ESPN playoff simulator, picking the Chiefs to win out (probably wishful thinking, but it could happen) and taking the AFC matchup that I feel is likely to win (giving due credit to teams like the Donkeys, Bills, Pats, etc) and I have the Chiefs coming out as the #6 seed at 11-6.

Not saying that's what I necessarily think is going to happen, but more of an acknowledgement that most of these AFC teams face pretty brutal schedules heading down the stretch and there is a lot of good football to be played.

I am a little disappointed in our whiny (at the moment) fan base acting like it's our God given right to win Super Bowls.  I think the days of continually drafting last are catching up to us, there are a lot of good football teams at the playing very solid football.  This is just another stretch of adversity that I'm excited to watch how the team and Mahomes responds.

Steelers are 6-6 so its not like they arent in that convo based on record.  But I have a hard time putting Steelers anywhere decent.  Their defense isnt good.  Their offense is short passes with an old hurt qb.  I honestly dont know what they have going for them.  Usually they play small ball with a good defense.  They are playing small ball with a bad defense.

Id take any of the teams they are grouped with over them.   Steelers wouldnt score a pt vs the Texans.  Sort of amazed by some of their scores this year, the version I have seen maybe 3 or 4 times this year has just no juice at all.

Now I know what Cowboys fans meant when they used to say Parsons gets held all the time.  Its literally every other pass rush snap.

And im not even complaining about the refs its just like at some point have to call 1 or 2.   Annoying to then see a ticky tack hold call elsewhere on the field.

Not crying, they won.  Just watch a Packers game and watch him get held each play.  Its actually quite astonishing.  Getting double teamed and then also held for 3 hours has to be exhausting.   Sounds kinky actually.

Just busting eggs. The inconsistencies of the referees has become almost unwatchable. It is the NFL though. They can pee on us and tell us it's raining and we will still watch
