I just checked the weather again on here and it says high of 20 with sleet. How in the hell do u get sleet when it’s 20 degrees? But regardless another reason for me to make the switch

I’m more than a little concerned with the matchup, gb, and the weather this week. Thinking of starting tua over him. Thoughts?

What’s the weather situation in Green Bay? TIA.

Just really cold, temps in the teens. Not a huge deal...

Just checked it again. High of 19 and low of 3. Guessing game will be around 15 most of the game being that it starts 3:25 ct. might not be the ice bowl, but makes me think twice

there will probably be more QB scrambles I suspect.    it has been my experience that sleet isnt a big deal breaker.   wind is worse.   snow/sleet become an issue if it falls to an extent where you cannot see the numbers on the field.

He's a scrambler who does his best work when on the fly. I think this weather can benefit him and his rushing upside is always there. He has a wonderful floor

As a lifelong Bears fan, it pains me to say it but if you have another option at QB you should use it. Williams has had a hard enough time being accurate in good conditions. Very cold & breezy makes throwing even more difficult. The Bears are also settling in to a run-first mode & with a good Packers D it’s not setting up for a strong statistical day for Williams this week

I have Williams and I am benching him for Stroud.  Not that happy about Stoud/his matchup either but think Stroud is going to need to throw the ball.  Texans run game is almost nonexistent while the Bear's run game is firing on all cylinders as of late. They ran all over the Eagles last week and due to that success and possible adverse weather today no reason to think the Bears don't rely on their running game again today.

Not sure where you are getting breezy from. Winds are looking at 5mph or less. Will be cold, but no precipitation and light winds. normal winter day in the north... Jacksonville looks like the worst weather day on the slate...

Wasn’t meaning to make it sound like strong winds, so apologies if it seemed that way. As of 11am Green Bay time, about 10mph winds gusting up to 19 but should settle down under 10mph by game time

sure he does.   but if you have a comparable option playing in a dome obviously you start the guy in the dome.

bad weather has ruined many a fantasy games for people.

I think his team has  a better chance to win with the weather.  but for fantasy, I'd at least knock a couple of points of his projected if the weather is actually bad.   20F isnt horrible but it is somewhat uncomfortable.    to a point where WR will drop some passes they should catch etc.    There will likely be one or two extra fumbles in the game.

but if the wind isnt howling and if the snow/sleet isnt coming down voraciously it should be business as usual other than the aforementioned points

All good, regardless I’d play someone else over Caleb if you have a decent option…

15 Fantasy points isn't great but it's not terrible. Looking around the league this week, it could of been worse. He was projected for 18

Ben is doing all he can to get him layup schemed up throws.  As seen on that tricky throwback to the TE who go lost cutting through the line.  The final play was a great playcall but better play by Nixon.  It was there enough and Caleb didnt get it to him.

As a Packers fan, I dont like Caleb.  I will say he is a playmaker and can make some wow plays.  Hes very fleet of foot.  But down in and down out I dont see anything great.  Ben schemes a lot for him.  Their OL is good, their run game is good.

But take into consideration that this is really his rookie season. Last year was a cluster Fuk with coaches and OCs coming and going.

I feel like he's ahead of schedule. I think those who don't see it, don't want to. The kid is definitely special.

Oh im not saying he sucks.  Ive held same position on him fot a bit.  Hes talented, I think a little sporadic.  He throws some great balls but then also misses easy ones.  He has talent, but Ben and that retooled OL are what finding them wins this season.  Caleb is just sort of along for thr ride.

Im not sure how you can say ahead of schedule.  Hes not bad but definitely not ahead.   Hes a generational talent supposedly.  He didnt have Oduzne this game.  But he has a top 10 WR a top 10 TE, DJ Moore, 2nd round Burden, a vet like Kmet, thr number 1 rated OL this year, Ben Johnson, and a light schedule with a defense that has taken it away more than anyone.  It would be hard for any QB to screw that up let alone a "generational talent".  He still has plenty of justin Fields looking games.

Coming into this game he was 40th out of 42 qualifiers in adjusted completion %.  1 behind JJ mcCarthey and 1 ahead of dillion gabriel.

Im not even railing on Caleb, I understand his rookie year saw some mess at coaches.  But other QBs see that and dont get a pass like Caleb.  People tried to use that excuse for years with Fields until they finally just now realized he just not very good.

Bryce Young is 2 spots ahead of Caleb in rating and 2 spots behind in QBR.  I get he has a year on him.  But his coach was fired in his first season with Thielen as his number 1 and no talent.  And people quickly wrote him off.  Is Bryce on schedule?

I get you could say Caleb just has more pure talent than Bryce or other QBs who are written off quickly.  But the rules/guidelines/judegment seem to be different for other QBs.

I actually thought that was a much better performance than I expected - sub 10 degree weather, the GB pass rush, at Lambeau. He nearly pulled it off but his touch & decision making on the last play were off. The 1st quarter was more like what I expected.

I'll take Caleb 10 times out of 10 in Dynasty. So would every other sane individual.

He came on in the 2nd half but that’s because of the playcalling. They were incredibly conservative in the 1st half. Also, Williams needs to start loosening up the defense by throwing downfield to WRs. Dump offs to RB’s & short routes to TEs are nice, but his downfield accuracy to WRs is horrendous

Im not talking about fantasy football.

And I didnt say id take Bryce over Caleb.  I was just wondering why 1 guy got written off after year one with a crap team and changing coaches and the other its made into an excuse.

Its kind of like when guys like Darnold and Baker were written off.  Then Justin Fields got year after year of excuses.

The guidelines as to how QBs are seen seem to be random.

Like I said im not trashing Caleb.  Hes improved.   Im not saying he sucks and wont ever be solid.  But I dont see exactly what hes shown with good weapons, a top OL, and one of the very best offensive coaches....he will have a big game here or there.  But a lot of Justin Fields looking games. Im impressed with Ben Johnson and how they rebuilt their OL quickly.  Cant say im all that impressed with Caleb.

You said its basically his rookie year because last year they canned coaches.  Then go onto say hes ahead of schedule.  To me that sounds like an excuse.

How far is Maye ahead of schedule then?  Daniels was in running for MVP in his actual rookie season.

How slow was the schedule for a "generational talent"?   Of course year 2 fot any QB isnt the end all, but when his peers, drafted after him, go and play much better earlier than him.....I cant say hes ahead of schedule.   Not sure how anyone could.

To stress it, im not saying he blows and will never be good.  I just dont know what hes done that is that impressive.   Are you blown away by him having a chance to beat a division rival and hold onto the division...and then throwing a bad ball that gets picked off in endzone?  Are you blown away by his numbers?  He ranks bottom 3rd of league in most any metrics besides running.

well, generational talent only counts once he gets 'it'.

he is learning.  I am seeing some progress.   Keep in mind he was playing against a very good D this week in substandard weather.  I wasnt expecting a huge fantasy game.

but the team was in it right up until the end.   It ended with that INT.     I dont mind those kind of INT.  time was  the enemy and they needed the TD to tie.   while they could have done a short play, there is the risk the clock runs out, so might as well go for it and see what you can do.   There are times where you just gotta take your best shot knowing if you make it you got something and if you miss you lose.

but he will learn from this.
