Reiner had a hell of a filmography: Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men. Sorry to hear of his passing.

For those of us who support gay rights, particularly gay marriage, it’s important to note how vital Rob Reiner was to this issue. He pretty much led the charge at a time when most liberal political leaders, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, refused to come out in favor for fear of alienating religious conservatives. 

Today gay marriage is such a given, so popular that it’s hard to remember that only a short time ago this was not the case. Reiner was not merely vocal; he organized the movement with his own time and money. He selected and paid for the attorneys who argued Obergefell before the Supreme Court.
