I think he wants the rare earth minerals critical for some key technologies.  While Biden was asleep at the wheel, China has been going all over the world scooping up the best deposits, so now Trump has to play catch up.

This was the best outcome I think. We weren’t going to “get Greenland”, we will put in some bases in BFE at some point maybe which we could have done with a normal meeting but oh well, and the tariffs bullshet was rescinded quickly.

If Denmark were smart they would give him a ceremony with a bug blue ribbon at the end and pat him on the head saying they have never seen such amazing deal making. That would go a long ways for them.
