    NFL Draft 2024 - Round 1 Discussion

maybe when they signed him they told him they'd draft someone and that they want him to mentor the kid. sometimes that part is just as important as the on field part. either way this is all speculation. but I have to think if Cousins gave them a 2 year window before he likely retires, now is the perfect time to draft someone and let him learn in a low pressure atmosphere. keep in mind Cousins is 35 and coming off a major injury. his good health is far from guaranteed.

2024 NFL Draft Profile - WR Xavier Worthy

hes not a lock. there are a lot of teams who dont like smallish WR as they can often be Jammed at the line at the NFL level. some can overcome this but a lot never do. I agree Buffalo might be a good landing place for him but they could easily go in a different direction.

    NFL Draft 2024 - Round 2 Discussion

honestly it wouldnt surprise me to see them take a guard as well. it feels like both the coach and the GM are committed to putting together a good line and if this is to be a wasted year might as well make sure that line is top notch.

what about the chargers? any word on whether they may be in the mix? we all know they could use a receiver

maybe they know something that we dont know. Maybe cousins agreed to a 4 year deal knowing hes only playing 2 of them (or something of the like)

I am less worried about that than I am the injuries. at the NFL level the linemen are bigger, stronger, faster, and meaner. whoever drafts him better have a good line cuz I think hes a bit fragile

    NFL Draft 2024 - Round 1 Discussion

I figured if they drafted an OL that round 2 would be a WR and round 3 a RB but I could be wrong on that

this is what a handful of the scouting reports have said (to paraphrase) if he didnt have so many injuries already as a young man hed be going higher in the draft. the general thought is whoever takes him may be able to expect a reasonably short career but there is a chance he may be a day 1 starter

    Dontayvian Wicks

well, we will see if the pro scouting agrees with your opinion soon enough.

I could see the chargers trading down, but I think it also depends who is available when they are on the clock

you might be right. but if they do pick, I suspect thats who they take

where they are drafting from he might be the best option by the time they are on the clock. personally I think he will be gone by then

fftoday profile has him at 210 lbs I think. you sure you got the right guy? if the fftoday numbers are correct hes pretty huge. 6'4 and 210 lbs. big enough to take a lot of punishment

with their skillset they are actually likely more valuable as a pocket passer behind a good line. just my opinion of course

    Dontayvian Wicks

I had my questions about Watson, but hes also been injured for a good part of the year. Sometimes injuries can prevent a player from finding his groove (so to speak) so I wouldnt go writing him off just yet. but I do think Wicks has earned more reps. to what extent I cannot be sure, but he didnt get any significant work until the midpoint of the season and he finished with 581 yards as a rookie. pro rate those last 9 games hes close to 700 yards if you double that total to pro rate over 18 games. while thats not massive, its pretty good for a rookie. and most WR do better in year 2. I'd project him for around 800 yards and 6 or 7 TD. And this is probably a conservative estimate with a low floor and high ceiling due to the small sample size.
