Michael Thomas - Couple talking points

Recommended Posts

Couldnt find a thread on him and got sick of looking so here....it....goes

Do you think he makes it to the top tier of WRs this year?

Do you think he has a better year than DeVanta Adams?

In ppr last season Thomas was sixth in ff points, so that I think would put him top tier.

You know I think Adams if he stays healthy can outscored him.

In ppr last season Thomas avg just 0.3 more points per game then Adams.

Tds make up the biggest diffrence.

Adams is no question going to be Rodgers number one wr , that’s good enough for me to take him over Thomas.

Great question.

Without looking at the numbers, my off the cuff impression is that Thomas stands out for his floor while Adams stands out for his ceiling. Adams could overtake Thomas but he'd need to dodge those wicked hits from the DBs and stay on the field for all 16 games.

Everyone knows where I stand on Adams from previous posts. If Rodgers and him stay healthy and play 16 games, he'll be in the Antonio Brown neighbourhood.

Thomas is a steady 100/1200/7td

Adams 95/1400/15

Adams has a bit more upside, but a lot more chance of missing a couple games after getting hit upside the head. Thats why theyre ranked so closely.

I have Keenan Allen ranged right there with them? I almost prefer Keenan over both by a hair. Anybody else?

I have him right behind Adams, but right before M Thomas.

I'd take Devante Adams all day over Michael Thomas, even in PPR.

TDs come at a premium for Michael Thomas, primarily because of the emergence of Alvin Kamara. When New Orleans gets in close to the stripe, they tend to run the ball. Kamara as we all know is a integral part of the Saints' passing game. AK41 is like having a #1 RB and and a #2 WR in one package. They also throw more screen passes than any team in the league.

Michael Thomas set a league record with 196 catches in his first two NFL seasons. Over 1100 yards receiving as a rookie. Over 1200 yards in year 2.

As a veteran, Adams had 149 over the past 2 years. Each year under 1000 yards receiving.

Have fun with taking "Devante Adams all day over Michael Thomas, even in a PPR."

Thomas easy, hes as dependable as they come. Im choosing to let guys like Adams and Diggs who have never even had a 1kyd season, actually accomplish that before drafting them over a guy with a 1k floor.

Last two seasons in non ppr Thomas has avg 10.4 points and in a ppr 16.7.

Last two seasons Adams has avg 10.6 in a non ppr and 15.6 in ppr.

Last season Brees had his less productive ff season as a Saint.

I think Adams can outscore Thomas in both this season.

Thanks.

More upside than 16 receptions, 180 yards receiving and a TD?

Wow.

1) Its week 1.

2) Adams hasn't even played yet.

PS. I drafted Thomas in the 2nd, ahead of Adams. Also drafted Kamara at 1.6, so Im sure you can figure out how my team did this week... Yawn.

We are talking upside no? It seems Thomas has at least an upside of 16 receptions, 180 yards, and a TD for one game. You think Adams has a bigger upside. That is what you said anyway.

You should have taken Thomas over Adams this past Sunday.

Thomas scored 45 points in a PPR,

Adams scored 19.8 all day.

I think both crack the top ten, I slightly prefer Adams, but I'd be happy with either, as i think they are both hitting 1,000k 8TDs at least... If Davante stayed healthy last year he was on pace for 134 targets, 86rec, and 1012 yards and 11TDs... with a back up QB.

MT looks to get you 15ish more rec, a handful more yards and 2ish fewer TDs if past history is any indicator. I think MT owners should enjoy him early, as the Saints could move back to being ground-heavy when Ingram comes back and there are more mouths to feed. IMO GB and their sh1tty D will either get Rodgers killed, or yield an unreal fantasy season for he and Adams (and possibly Geronimo)
