All Kids Matter - Another great move from a real President

Recommended Posts

He has outed himself so many times it's not even funny anymore. You guys know how I feel about this s***. I have always been consistent on that. You have to be one seriously f*****-up chickenshit individual to have to keep changing your identity On and already Anonymous message board. That's why I, even though I like to Rusty when I met him in person but, he's got some serious f****** issues Coming up with aliases all the time so he can be one thing in person and several other things online. Creating an alias to be funny I guess is one thing But creating an alias because You're so afraid of your own viewpoints And desperately need to be loved by a bunch of online guys? That's just f****** weird. We've all got issues, But having to keep changing your name Again on an already Anonymous message board? What the f***? What the actual f***?

I don't have an alias. I just changed my handle. Let it be known from jump. That's not an alias.

I know that, but you don't seem to know that. So you're saying I'm all 3?

Well you admit to being MB so it's really "you" are RP.

I admit to being MB, always have. And MB is not RP. And you and Wiffleball seem to be the only ones that think that. You and Wiffleball. But hey, it's the Internet. Lots of folks believe a lot of stuff. Doesn't mean they should take away your keyboard. You're welcome to look the fool if you want.

Most Americans think the Civil War was about Slavery but it was actually about states rights. In 1860 only 1.5% of Americans owned slaves. The Civil War was the Federal Government's first big power grab.

Bullshit. It was about slavery.

Seeing as South Carolina was the first state to seceed, read for yourself in their own words, why. They'll tell you.

http://teachingamericanhistory.org/library/document/south-carolina-declaration-of-causes-of-secession/

or you can listen to Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens explain it himself in his own words. (Or I guess the best we can do is listen ti someone else read his speech for him, as the tape recorders hadn't been invented yet).

edited out ....sorry that guy is editorializeing.. will find a better version...

The new Constitution has put at rest forever all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institutions—African slavery as it exists among us—the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution. Jefferson, in his forecast, had anticipated this, as the "rock upon which the old Union would split." He was right. What was conjecture with him, is now a realized fact. But whether he fully comprehended the great truth upon which that rock stood and stands, may be doubted. The prevailing ideas entertained by him and most of the leading statesmen at the time of the formation of the old Constitution were, that the enslavement of the African was in violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally and politically. It was an evil they knew not well how to deal with; but the general opinion of the men of that day was, that, somehow or other, in the order of Providence, the institution would be evanescent and pass away... Those ideas, however, were fundamentally wrong. They rested upon the assumption of the equality of races. This was an error. It was a sandy foundation, and the idea of a Government built upon it—when the "storm came and the wind blew, it fell."

Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth. This truth has been slow in the process of its development, like all other truths in the various departments of science.

[stephens stated that the Confederacy's belief in human inequality was adhering to the "laws of nature" ]

. . . look with confidence to the ultimate universal acknowledgement of the truths upon which our system rests? It is the first government ever instituted upon the principles in strict conformity to nature, and the ordination of Providence, in furnishing the materials of human society. Many governments have been founded upon the principle of the subordination and serfdom of certain classes of the same race; such were and are in violation of the laws of nature. Our system commits no such violation of nature's laws.

The original purpose of the war was to preserve the union. Then there was this little thing called the Emancipation Proclamation which put ending slavery (in the south only) at the forefront of the war efforts.

Preserving the union... which was threatened because of the issue of Slavery.

Trying to deny the civil war was about Slavery is absurd. It was about states rights... to have Slavery.

Bullshit. It was about slavery.

Mississippi's was even more blunt in it's declaration

A Declaration of the Immediate Causes which Induce and Justify the Secession of the State of Mississippi from the Federal Union.

In the momentous step which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course.

Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. These products have become necessities of the world, and a blow at slavery is a blow at commerce and civilization. That blow has been long aimed at the institution, and was at the point of reaching its consummation. There was no choice left us but submission to the mandates of abolition, or a dissolution of the Union, whose principles had been subverted to work out our ruin.

CNN's Cuomo’s tweet storm started when a person asked, “What do you tell a 12 year old girl who doesn’t want to see a peemus in the locker room?” Cuomo responded by “wondering” aloud if “she was the problem” or her “intolerant dad.”
