IGotWorms 4,057 Posted February 7, 2007 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sectio...&id=2756535 After having nearly a month to cool down, Tomlinson no longerblames Belichick. Tomlinson said both the coach and the running back "kind of apologized" Monday. "He was joking around, having a good time with all the guys," Tomlinson said. "We even joked about the (playoff) game. I told him that I said some things that maybe I shouldn't have said, and in return, Bill said he didn't even see Hobbs doing it, but after the game, he definitely said something to him about handling the situation better. "I still think Hobbs was wrong, but when I sit back and think about it, I don't think Bill has any control over how his players act. He can tell them all day long, 'Guys, let's act like we've been there before,' like Marty (Schottenheimer) does to us, but guys can always do whatever they want to do." Tomlinson now wishes he hadn't invoked Belichick's name -- and he's excited to see how New England's coaching staff will use him in the Pro Bowl along with Manning, Marvin Harrison and the rest of the offensive talent. "We talked," Belichick said. "I have all the respect in the world for LaDainian as a person, as a player, and it's fun to be out here working with all of those guys from the Chargers." It sure seems to me like he chose the high road with the Tomlinson situation. Maybe Belichick isn't as bad as so many of you like to make him out to be? I'm sure he'd like to have those comments back now, they made him look very foolish. But what I am trying to point out here is that players do apparently regard Belichick as actually being human, so maybe some of the posters on this board should as well? I don't expect the guy to be high-fiving him or anything, but the only Patriot I saw show genuine congrats to anyone was Bruschi. http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/journalgazett...ts/16651964.htm Manning also relishes the chance to play for New England coach Bill Belichick, who got this assignment after the Patriots’ wrenching loss to Indianapolis in the AFC championship game. Belichick left a congratulatory voicemail message for Manning last Friday, and he joked around with the quarterback during stretching exercises before Wednesday’s practice. And Manning’s teammates are looking forward to a week of relaxation. Saturday, his longtime center, spent just enough time at home to wash his clothes Monday night. After throwing them back into the same suitcase he took to Miami, Saturday was off for the islands to play for Belichick. “Bill even said that – as much as he hated to say it – congratulations,” Saturday said. football_scooter 0 Posted February 9, 2007 I saw the Belicheck & LT2 interviews on ESPN from pro-bowl training camp and they both seemed sheepish about it. It was definately a more humble Bill than we're all used to seeing. I think his arrogant fock persona is a byproduct from how hard he works during the season. Not that he's not an arrogant fock - hell, I don't know the guy. he's certainly had some public D-Bag moments....but it was a ncie change to see him more real and down to Earth. I think when we all knee-jerk to conclusions about some of these guys, we do it based on a small sample size of what we see of them during the season - these guys work 16-18 hours a day and "live and breathe" their jobs. I've been working 10-12 hours a day and the stress of that is getting to me...and my job isn't televised in front of millions of people. At some point we need to give HC's a break. My $.02 that said, he still looks like a focking bum in that dirty-ass hoodie
msudavedawg 5 Posted February 9, 2007 Pesonally, I think next season Bill should wear the leg warmers that go with his lucky Flashdance sweatshirt that he wears every game. Maybe they will get back to the Super Bowl!

Somehow I have trouble believing it. Good luck proving there was cash in those Fed Ex boxes, and good luck proving she's anything but a friend. This reeks of someone wanting to cash in on the connection of their wife to a famous coach. I wouldn't put anything past anyone, but a 40-something married chick? IGotWorms 4,057 Posted February 9, 2007 Why single him out and not LT? Its just two guys that put it all behind them a month later. There is no high road here, they are just moving on. Because LT came out like a whining crybaby after the game and attacked Belichick publicly. What did Belichick do? Nothing, as far as we know. He didn't retaliate, he didn't call LT a sore loser, he didn't mention that the Chargers could be viewed as classless themselves, etc., etc. Instead he ignored it, focused on the important thing (trying to win the championship) and was then willing to make nice when LT finally came around. He handled it as well as anyone could, LT certainly did not. Yes, I saw that after I posted. Good for them to make up, but it still does not excuse what he did when the whole world was watching that day. No class when it counted. I heard that Brady was the first one off the field. Brady doesn't respond well to losing. I wouldn't say he's a "sore loser" because he doesn't come out complaining about the other team or the refs or his teammates, but he certainly doesn't want to stand around on the field and bask in a loss. Also, Giselle was waiting for him.

Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted February 10, 2007 That you and "Dark Nuggs" were wrong about labeling Tomlinson as a whiner and a sore loser. I have to disagree. A gut reaction after a tough loss is one of the purest forms of truth you'll see. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been upset - but instead of releasing his emotions on say, a punching bag in the locker room or something, he CHOSE to fire unsubstantiated accusations at Belichick. And while it's commendable that he owned up to what he said and apologized, to me this aura of Tomlinson being the "classiest" guy in the league has been shattered. Now I'll always be asking "is Tomlinson taking his O-line out for dinner because he really means it, or because he thinks it will look good on him?". I had no reason to doubt his motives until his outburst, but that seed of doubt is now planted. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll just sit here waiting for the inevitable F-bombs and "butt pirate" response by JahRasta....

History is full of affairs that made little sense. Now her sister and brother-in-law are living in a house BB reportedly bought for her...and she "doesn't know" if BB also banged her sister This story keeps getting better... Update Sharon testified that in addition to the $3,000 a month in cash Belichick supplied, he footed the bill for a summer rental on the Jersey Shore that cost between $25,000 and $27,000. Additionally, Sharon stated that Belichick helped pay the cost of the $11,000 retainer she gave her divorce attorney and that he gave her a “Fast Pass” to pay for gasoline. Sharon also divulged that she used money she “borrowed” from Belichick to purchase two pair of earrings - one for $796.83 and one for $531.79 - and to take trips to Disney World, Jamaica, a spa in Utah, and, most recently, the posh Intercontinental Hotel and Resorts in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Belichick’s largesse also allowed the non-working mom to purchase $4,500 worth of Giants season tickets, to employ a personal trainer, to pay babysitting expenses and to buy furniture for her daughter’s bedroom. Sharon said Belichick has never discussed repaying the “loans” and there are no documents detailing exactly how much cash he’s coughed up over the years. IGotWorms 4,057 Posted February 13, 2007 HONOLULU - For several AFC stars, the most interesting part of Pro Bowl week was the opportunity to investigate Bill Belichick. Sure, the Patriots [team stats] coach is widely respected after leading his club to three Super Bowl wins. But his competitive nature and sometimes ruthless personnel decisions left some players wondering what he would be like in such a relaxed setting. “I never really met Belichick before, and you always hear about how he’s a mean guy,” Baltimore linebacker Adalius Thomas said yesterday, prior to returned a fumble 70 yards for a score in the AFC’s 31-28 win. “But it’s real interesting to see how he reacts with different players, how he gets comfortable over here. He’s actually a really nice guy. I was surprised.” Belichick got the job running the AFC squad after the Patriots lost to the Colts in the conference championship game. He kept his practices comfortable and quick in Hawaii, clearly enjoying himself - though he repeatedly said he would rather have been coaching last week in the Super Bowl. “For Bill, this is his peace on the football field,” said league MVP LaDainian Tomlinson, who’d made comments critical of Belichick following the Chargers’ playoff loss to the Pats. “He’s definitely happier out here. This is where he loves to be. Out here, I get to talk to him and understand the man.” http://patriots.bostonherald.com/otherNFL/...rticleid=182310 A good thing to keep in mind too is that the Patriots are likely to take a shot at Adalius in free agency.
