throttlers 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I just got offered a trade. A couple days ago an owner posted that he is looking for trade offers for S.Smith, R.Moss, Colston, D.Brees, and C-Pep. I almost made an offer for S.Smith or Colston because I have been hurting a bit at WR. Instead, I ended up accepting an offer of R.Williams for the Eagles DST with another owner Now the 1st owner has sent me a couple of trade offers. !st he offered me Winslow & Jennings for Houshmanzadeh. Then he offered Winslow for M.Jones. I rejected both. Now he is offering me R. Moss for M.Jones. So far I have avoided the Oakland debachel in all 3 of my leagues. Should I do this deal? Maybe I wait for Randy to have a couple good games and trade him for another RB? Should I make a counter offer? This is a 12 team with 1 keeper. It is a PPR league with pretty standard scoring. The only unusual scoring is that return yardage is counted like rushing yardage. My roster: QB - Palmer, Big Ben RB - R.Brown, C.Taylor, McAllister, Norwood WR - Houshmandzadeh, R.Williams, Branch, M.Jones, Ma. Clayton, Gabriel TE - Heap (have a waiver claim pending to drop Gabriel for De. Clark) K - Kasay DST - Bengals His roster QB - C-Pep, Brees RB - Bush, Gore, Betts, Turner WR - S.Smith, J.Walker, R.Moss, Colston, Jennings, J.Cribbs TE - Winslow (yahoo allows Colston to play as TE) K - Akers DST - Ravens I'd really like to put together a deal to get Bush to go with McAllister, but I don't see it happening. Maybe I should go the other way and try to deal McAllister to him. I am leaning towards taking the Moss for Jones deal. Any opinions are appreciated.
Patriotica 5 Posted September 21, 2006 Who exactly is throwing to Moss this week? Anyway, I look at it like this...the other guy wants Jones for a reason. So don't do the deal. The risk is all on Moss.
big D 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Stick with Jones. Moss is a good receiver, but no longer great. Plus, his O-line and QBs are awful.
J5 0 Posted September 21, 2006 This is tough. Moss has looked awful and Jones has alot of upside and has a good schedule. I think I would probably make this deal though. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=235543
irish2007 0 Posted September 21, 2006 I would not trade Matt Jones. Moss is in a terrible offense and with Brooks out and Walter not producing, that team is destined for more turmoil. If you saw the Pit/Jax game Monday, Jones looked good and became a viable target for Leftwich against a tough D. I'd sit on it for awhile, at least until after this weekend. Smith is still highly questionable, Walker has no one throwing to him, Colston is playing ATL and still needs to show me more before making that much of a commit to him, and Jennings is slowly turning into a solid #2. Jones, in my opinion, is much better to have in that he is 6'6 and runs a 4.3 40 and can catch some tough balls. I just got offered a trade. junk 0 Posted September 21, 2006 if you think housh will get healthy i would make this deal. without housh though, you will need a solid 5 rec 75 yard guy like jones... moss is a risk, but should get back on track and prob explode some weeks... the raiders look real bad, but their schedule gets a little easier. if you have no penchant for risk, dont make the move... (btw, if its a keeper league, no way) http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=235560
Dascoopman 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Looking at your roster you really do need help at WR but I wouldn't go with Moss, I wouldn't touch any Raider this year they look horrible. I'd try and go for someone else if your gonna try and upgrade to a WR. Thanks for Mine
runninkyle17 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Nope, stay away from Moss. If you can look elsewhere. I wouldn't try and touch any of his players except maybe Gore, but that is a long shot. gold_finger 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Personally, I think Moss is going to rebound at some point in time. Raiders will be behind a lot this year and they have to start throwing to moss some time or another. It's a risky decision but I'm not sure how much upside Jones actually has this season. I'm not sure Leftwitch is a real consistent passer and can get the ball to Jones. But Jones does play Houston and Tennesse twice this year so that's count for something haha. FreddieMercury 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Thanks for answering mine. You need a WR, but not this badly. Keep Jones and play the waiver wire until you strike gold, or maybe you can make a deal with one of your TE's (Heap or Clark) to get someone solid.
SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted September 21, 2006 You will be hating life with Moss. Heck, Moss is hating life right now.
mcstl25 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Don't give up on Moss yet. They played against two of the best defenses in the league. They will be a bad team, but not as bad as they have been. The Raiders should be playing from behind a lot, which means one thing... Moss deep. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=235576

I just can't believe he's gonna continue with awful games. The Raiders are a bad team, but I still think Randy will get it together.
buckin14 0 Posted September 21, 2006 Keep Jones. Moss can't catch passes if his QB is on his back all day. That O-line is awful. Any thoughts on my flex spot trouble?
yamokosk 0 Posted September 21, 2006 It is sometimes hard to believe superstars like Moss will have a bad year, but eventually it must happen. Stay away from this trade until something changes in Oaktown. M. Jones right now is a much, much better option at WR than Moss - fantasy wise.
