I have Cancer :/ -- now not so great, new nodule 3/18/25

I don't have a trach, I had a laryngectomy. I permanently breathe through a stoma in my trachea, unless they come up with a way to regrow my larynx. Which is actually being worked on at the Mayo here. I'm not sure if they would have needed to do something prior to my surgery to make such a procedure work, and I'm usually disqualified from such things because of the metastasis, but who knows, maybe someday. I've done swallow tests. My problem is a combo of (1) the reconstruction of my throat left some ridges that pool food and liquid, and (2) I speak through a prosthetic device between my trachea and esophagus (TEP, or trans-esophageal prosthetic). The TEP is basically a tube with a valve -- when I push air through it, the valve opens, my esophagus vibrates, and walla! sounds kinda like speech. Works quite well actually. Unfortunately, it is not a permanent device, as crud and fungus collects on the valve and affects the seal of the valve and the TEP cylinder itself. So some amount of aspiration eventually occurs. The trick is to determine when it is consistent enough to get it changed, which happens every few months. The change involves pliers to yank it out of my throat, then a device to jam the new one into my throat. It's not a pleasant experience. ETA: Regarding the swallow test: with a lary, my esophagus is completely isolated from my trachea, so that isn't the issue.with my aspiration. I mentioned above that I brought up the possibility of aspiration-related nodule, and the doc said it was possible. She didn't use the word pneumonia though. Googling around, it looks like usually this presents with infection-related issues (fever, etc.) which I don't have, nor do I have a cough. But it can cause a "lung abscess." It sounds like you had limited symptoms as well. I'm not inclined to delay the surgery any more, but thanks for the info. I really hope this is the cause. -
I never said "forced." I said influenced. The huge surge in girls identifying as trans is indisputed; what IS in dispute is the cause. Trans activists like @The Real timschochet will tell you they are all real, they just feel comfortable coming out not. I am on the side that this is disconnected from reality. Something is terribly wrong here, and mutilating kids while we figure it out is unacceptable.

Have you ever known an actual trans person? I was friends with a couple girls growing up, they were basically guys and it surprised absolutely no one when they both ended up being lesbians (not together) and then one of them became a dude. You could tell when we were ten years old for Christ’s sake, that’s just the way they were. And I’m not talking tomboys, this was different, they essentially were guys trapped in girls’ bodies. Now this crap where it’s being suggested to every kid that hey maybe you’re not a boy, or maybe you’re asexual or pansexual or sapiosexual or whatever all this crap is now, that isn’t helpful. But yes there are some actual trans people out there and that’s just the way they were made -

I have no issue with actual trans people but this stuff where somebody decides they’re a woman one day then a man the next then neither on the third day, and wants you to go with their changing names and pronouns for each day and all that junk, is just ridiculous. And I do think it harms teenagers as now they all want to try it out and they think it makes them interesting or whatever, and they’re even more confused than teenagers already are because they can’t even start from a simple base point of what their focking gender is. So, yeah, this is an issue where I get what the right is saying, and I wish the left would act like normal people on this. If you’re an actual trans person then you shouldn’t be shamed or discriminated against but GTFO with all this other bs -
Id be stunned if Trump is on the 80% side of any issue other than maybe trans in sports. A big part of the problem in politics today is that neither party offers much on the issues that matter to the overwhelming majority of Americans: jobs, healthcare, housing, education, etc. So they barely even try. Thats why the parties spend so much time bickering about trannies, furries, DEI, etc. It costs nothing and it’s way easier to work their side into a lather than to tackle any real issues. HTH

Liberals are losing their minds, and we are just getting started. Just wait until their favorite politicians are getting arrested. This runs so deep. Deeper than even most Trump supporters realize. There is a tie between JFK and Trump. They are going to have a really hard life unless they come to peace with this, because we aren't going back to the insane trans identity politics that their own identities are tied to. Trump was able to stop their election interference when he wasn't even president yet. He's going to set this country up so that it's impossible to happen again.
