you guys, enjoy your league. you want me out, then i am more than happy to be out.

i made the roster move i did out of desperation in an attempt to stay in position to contend this year. there was never any attempt to throw a game. i was completely confident that my team, sans most of its RBs and WRs on bye or injury, was losing either way, so i figured it as a shrewd strategy to try to save the season. last week i was up by a lot of points going into MNF and he had no one left, so i benched favre before the game. the week before i was down 50 going into MNF and had priest and kennison left and knew i couldnt catch up, so i benched them too. i was aware that points scored would be a tiebreaker somewhere down the line and that i was costing myself there, but i did it to put myself into position to get the best waiver spot because i knew i needed to find another QB for my roster. the outcomes of the games were already safely in store in both cases, and it was exactly how i felt this week too even without a game being played yet. a lineup of favre, dd, cj, and scrubs simply cant beat another entire team, period.

furthermore, i tried very hard to get ahold of either commissioner before sunday to be sure that my strategy was a safe one. i got ahold of jgalt but he was leaving for vacation so i didnt have time to ask. and marc wasnt around all weekend, even with my posting a message here to him. thus after failing to get ahold of a comissioner but still wanting to try my strategy to put myself in the best position to win this season, i left my lineup as i had planned but emailed bigmarc with my reasoning in it and also gave him a second lineup of players which would be my lineup if i couldnt use the one i had submitted. everything was there, and i did everything i could to prevent any uprising like this. the commissioners had all the chances in the world to have found out about this before sunday even happened, and then if the lineup was legal they say so and you all give up the fight, or if not then they change it and i give up the fight. the fact that its several days later and there is still no response is not my fault. i did the best i could to get everything in order.

anyways, i dont intend to make any excuses. i dont regret the decision i made. when i joined the league, i committed in my mind to give a consistent effort toward putting out a winning product. i play the game of fantasy football with integrity, but i play intensely and i play to win. many times i take very unconventional strategies, and i do them because i think they give me an advantage that may be helpful toward my goal of winning. i do not cheat, nor would i ever make a move if i felt it was cheating or outside of the rules. i understand that many of you disagree, and i can respect that, but i disagree with you.

bottom line is that, regardless of what comes out with the waivers thing, most of the league members seem to want me out of the league, and i am quite fine with that. ive "participated" in the league third-party hearsay for a couple of years now and know its a good one, and i would be glad to give up the spot if it means stopping what looks otherwise to be some sort of revolt or lasting problem for the league. its no skin off my back at all.

good luck to yall.

Da Bomb, You keep saying you weren't going to win anyway, but you do admit that your attempt was to score as little points as possible so that you could get a better waiver position, right? And yuo realize that by doing this, you would edge out another team(s) that fielded a full roster, right? I can't understand why you think this move has integrity?

I was actually softening my view of your actions slightly...until I read this. Is playing all your bye players putting forth consistent effort. I think not. Perhaps, you are too cagey for your own good.

Obviously what he meant was that he would lose this week for the betterment of his season.

Benching guys in previous weeks went under the radar. I think we need to review the waivert ranking process of using points. It clearly creates a catch 22 situation where it does not pay to strive for the best possible score.

Looking back at his roster, this is not the first time he;s done this. He has not fielded a full roster and started Couch over Favre previously.

Like I said...too cagey for his own good. Frankly, I respect the innovation...I just don't respect him being a d!ck in a free league.

and I'm not defending the sandbagging, but there seems to be a logical flaw in the waiver ranking rules as they stand.

Perhaps we allow him to be in the league and amend our rules after the season to say something along the lines of "if you don't field a full squad (unless all of bench players are on bye or IR), then you forfeit your turn until the end of the round in all drafts, both mid-season and free agent ones."

Yes, leagues really need rules stipulating that their owners "try".

Itchin' for a spot, are ye?

Yeah, especially when you're playing Fricker's team. Everyone knows this is about as close of a gimme win as you're going to get all year.
