2nd half draft

Recommended Posts

In my total points league, the best thing we do is break it up into two halves, completely starting over for the 2nd half. I am currently is 2nd place for the 1st half, and will probably be playing with house money for the 2nd half providing my team doesn't tank this upcoming weekend.

I do like the prospect of having a completely new team for week 10, so while some of you are already packing in the season, I get to start anew. Anyways, anyone have any thoughts on who will have a big last 8 weeks? Anywhere from studs to sleepers.

It is nice to get a 2nd chance, and makes the football season interesting all the way to the end! Also, since drafting is probably the funnest part of FF, it is nice to do it twice!

Good call on Taylor, he might deserve the 10 spot with the upcoming schedule he has. I think Ronnie Brown is going to finish the season on fire. Look at his schedule.

If you compare Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell, they have (in a standard scoring league) scored exactly the same amount of points despite Bell missing week 2. So if you look at it, Bell is averaging more points per game and over the last 4 weeks has scored 24, 19,6, 22. Over the last 4 Anderson has put up 4, 11, 18, 19. So over the last 4 weeks Bell has outscored Anderson 71-52. Thats why I rank Bell higher. If you look even closer, from weeks 5-8 Bell is the 4th highest scoring RB...ahead of even LT.

Ok, here's my new list:

WR:

1. Arnaz Battle

2. Frisman Jackson

3. DJ Hackett

4. Craphonso Thorpe

5. Scotty Vines

Sorry my first last was so bad...It was probably a real bad idea to base it off season performance and remaining strength of schedule. This time I just tried looking for real cool names.

Nope...Eli would not have been #1...nor would Moulds be in the top 10...nor would Bell be involved at RB.

Some of them are close to the orders...but others are a bit outside of normal thinking.

Not that agree with the list...but to blast it as you did is quite laughable...especially without offering anything more than a lame attempt at an insult.

I'd rather have the starter, which is Anderson. I wouldn't want to have to hope on Bell breaking a long run every week in order to get me points.

or im not unemployed and actually work during work hours. But a packers fan wouldnt undertand that. You are happy with your 6.25 an hour wage and have time to do fantasy football research while you work

also i have posted many lists on this site each and every preseason.

True...but McNabb and his health would make me weary of drafting him too high at this point...

And Palmer has played well enough that I think he can handle about any defense.

Not a bad thing...I just would not put McNabb and his health risk right now above a guy performing like Palmer is. And with Housh healthy again, and Perry coming on, it can even get better.

it's funny to me that jake still doesn't get his props. delhomme went for 17 td's and 4 int's in the last 8 games of '04. he has multiple TD games in five straight now. not only is he top 10, he is arguably top 5 IMO.

He's another guy with a rough remaining schedule. I think he'll continue to find Steve Smith once a game, but thats about it.

i'm into this list. the first list was also pretty sketchy IMHO. i don't think santana should be as high as he is. don't buy into this washington top 5 offense sh*t, it's a fluke. Brunell is a fluke. Santana Moss is a fluke. Santana will quickly become that inconsistent wide receiver we've all known him to be and you should be grouping him with guys like Donte Stallworth, terry glenn, chris chambers, and jerry porter. Also, don't leave moulds in your top 10. A couple good games doesn't make him a top 10 WR, even with kelly holcomb at the helm (how long till he falls apart anyway? 2 weeks?).

At RB, don't sleep on Caddy. Tons of people on this board were predicting him in the top #5 in 2006 redraft leagues, until he got hurt of course. but he's back now and can totally regain form.

QB? Good luck, nobody's reliable this year.

I disagree that Caddy will be the 14th and 17th ranked rb. I also think Horn will be top 10 from here on out. People forget him b/c of his injury but he had 99yds yesterday. Here is how I would draft...

QB

1. Peyton

2. Collins

3. Palmer (tough schedule)

4. Favre

5. Plummer

6. Eli

7. Delhomme

8. Bledsoe

9. Brees

10. Vick

RB

1. SA

2. LT

3. Willis

4. Edge

5. L Jordan

6. S Jackson

7. D Davis

8. Westy

9. K Jones

10. Tiki

11. Caddy

12. T Jones

13. C Dillon

Again, Fred Taylor should be top 10 on EVERY list with his upcoming schedule.

I was weary of drafting Freddy at the beginning of the season. He has played well enough to warrant a top pick, but I'm still not sold. To each their own...

No J Lewis? LOL How far he has fallen that he did not make any of these lists. In fact, backup Bell is ranked ahead of him.

Not trying to hyjack the thread. Just saying.........

Considering he may start losing carries to Chester Taylor and Bell, even as a backup has been putting up starting RB numbers....not much of a stretch.

while i like taylor's schedule and agree he's a definite performer i gave him a lower ranking simply because there are so many RB's that are looking good right now.

while there's a pretty big drop off after the top 6-7 WR, and huge middle tier of QB's after the top 3, there are a ton of good RB's. still i can't reasonably see putting fred taylor ahead of priest, thomas jones, or dunn (which you would have to)

feel free to make your own list of rb's, and i think you'll see taylor can't be considered top 10

some of you guys need to grow a thicker skin.  somone disagrees w/your picks?  that's what we do on this board!!!!!!!    i invite all idiots that disagree w/my rankings to speak up!

I disagree that Caddy will be the 14th and 17th ranked rb. :D I also think Horn will be top 10 from here on out. People forget him b/c of his injury but he had 99yds yesterday. Here is how I would draft...

QB

1. Peyton

2. Collins

3. Palmer (tough schedule)

4. Favre

5. Plummer

6. Eli

7. Delhomme

8. Bledsoe

9. Brees

10. Vick

RB

1. SA

2. LT

3. Willis

4. Edge

5. L Jordan

6. S Jackson

7. D Davis

8. Westy

9. K Jones

10. Tiki

11. Caddy

12. T Jones

13. C Dillon

14. Denver RB, KC RB, Dal RB

WR

1. S Smith

2. T Owens

3. Chad J

4. S Moss

5. T Holt

6. R Moss

7. J Horn

8. Harrison

9. Galloway

10. Fitzgerald

hahaha. yeah, i guess you can tell i had a tough time on where to put caddy.

and totally agree w/horn deserving to be in there. i'd probably bump him up to 14 or 15 best WR (as his injury still leaves some question marks) for sure it's reasonable he could perform as a top 10 for the rest of the season, even w/brooks throwing to him.

7. R. Moss

8. Holt

9. Moulds

2. LT

3. Edge

4. Jordan

5. Jackson

6. McGahee

replace TO with Holt at #3.

put Wilford in the top 10 (yes I'm buying the hype)

Remove Thomas Jones and put LJ in behind Jackson

Move Favre down, Eli down, Palmer up, Brees up
