OB1 33 Posted May 28, 2004 OMG, bitter's pick is going to freeking prison!@ I'm glad he took him. Edge was 7th on my list neck and neck with Ricky. I had him higher than Lewis for the following reasons: Lewis had the same injury Edge did plus, he has legal issues looming, not nearly the supporting cast, and doesn't catch as many passes as Edge. I don't expect Edge to return to 2000 total yards and 17TDs, but if he can give me 1800 total yards and 13 TDs with 50-60 rec for a few years, i'll take it. I had a time deciding between Edge and Ricky. In the end, Ricky hasn't had a major knee surgery and next year the Colts will have problems getting both Edge and Harrison signed. A small issue, but enough to tip the scales.
Wilzone 0 Posted May 29, 2004 I have Edge in CHIMI dynasty and wanted a change of pace. If it weren't for that, I would have strongly considered him at my draft spot. But if I drafted him here and he sucks or gets injured, then I'm screwed in both dynasty leagues.

Yeah - yeah - yeah - that's why I don't want Randy Moss or Shaun Alexander or Jamal Lewis or Chad Johnson or Santana Moss or Stephen Davis or DeShaun Foster or Todd Heap here in this league. grandpahoo 9 Posted May 29, 2004 That was one of the toughest 1st round decisions I've ever made. Insert "worst" for "toughest" and I think you got it right. At least I know that, at worst, I'll have the second worst pick of round one.

Farmer Bernie 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Bernie Trades me his 1.13 and his 2.04 for Shaun Alexander and 2.10. Wow!!! What a delightful trade. I was looking at 3 guys here - all of whom had some questions about them. I agree with Wilzone - you have to get a guy in 1st round who's going to carry your team, especiall in a 16-team dynasty league. Shaun Alexander is about as sure a thing as I could hope for. Me likey!

Farmer Bernie 0 Posted May 29, 2004 Love me the Davis pick. He was one of the three - and more realistically, one of the two guys I was looking at here. I just have some doubts that he can repeat last year.
OB1 33 Posted May 29, 2004 The trade is confirmed and noted in the draft thread. So basically you guys swapped your first two picks. Interesting.

ICEMAN 41 Posted May 29, 2004 Moved down and still got the guy that I wanted! Gotta love those rushing yards/TD's from your QB position.
grandpahoo 9 Posted May 29, 2004 Moved down and still got the guy that I wanted! Gotta love those rushing yards/TD's from your QB position. That worked out well for both of us - Daunte was the next guy on my list, but I really wanted Taylor. We both get the guy we want, and I didn't have to pay out the ass or anything. I don't think I did, anyway
ICEMAN 41 Posted May 29, 2004 It appears that it was a win all around. That's the way that all trades should work.

I don't think I did, anyway ICE got something for nothing if he was going to take Culp anyway - but that was a worthwhile risk for hoo to get who he wants. Good deal for both, but better deal for ICE since he lost nothing and gets the benefit later when he moves ahead of hoo. Taylor was the obvious choice at 1.14 IMO. TUS has two chances to get the next obvious choice.
