Not likely. It seems as though she just hires young, guido & geek guys (possibly in hopes of getting some cawk.)

 

However, last week when Bully came out all of their copies were reserved for pre-orders, so I went to the Coconuts on the other side of the shopping center and found a (moderately) cute goth chick.

Apparantly GameStop's hiring policy includes a minimum weight requirement of about 2 bills for the women. They're nice and all, but not too easy on the eyes.

 

I bought their discount card btw. I get a free subscription to GamePro magazine, 10% off used games and 10% bonus on traded in games. It pretty much pays for itself, plus I really like the magazine. Totally worth it.

I may have mentioned this before. I'm just very excited about it. It adds a whole new dimension to online gameplay.

 

I think game developers are taking a long look at the Battlefield series for ideas to mix up online gameplay.

Working in game development is not as greta as you might think. LOOOOOONG hours for months at a time. They work you to the bone. In fact, about a year ago EA had a mini revolt amonst its employees who started posting horror stories on the net.

Speaking of PS3 - I've also been reading articles on the games coming out for launch. They look incredible. One reviewer was saying how you can see where your $$$ is going when you see the graphics.

You'd save yourself a lot of headaches by getting a 360 and waiting 4 or 5 months on the PS3.

Over the should view like RE4, the same controller mapping as Halo, and made by the originator of UT. There's no way that this game will suck.

GoW got a 9.4 rating from IGN.com.

 

Gears of War is a must-have game, pure and simple. Epic has effectively created a new gaming universe, and the rich story of planet Sera holds its own with the likes of Hyrule, City 17 and the Mushroom-friggin'-Kingdom. A game so gorgeous, both visually and aurally, that is this fun to play comes along only a handful of times a console generation.

 

Shipment to my local EBFatGothChick got screwed up, so I won't be picking up GoW and COD3 until tomorrow.

What about FEAR? That game looks pretty good too. One game i hope they make a sequel to on 360 is Black. Played it on the regular box and it was one of the funnest games i've played. A real shoot-em up. But i usualy play more sports games. Has anyone played either/both nhl 2k7 or NHL live?

I picked up Gears of War tonite at Best Buy... never goto EB or Gamestop. They get it at the same time and they don't get nearly enough copies.

 

Anyway, played through the first couple of levels. Incredible graphics and I'm already picking up a little of the gameplay features that make it cool. I like it a good bit so far; I'm a little worried that the gameplay might not be too varied.

 

So far it's the same thing...

 

- big open area - check

- lots of debris to take cover behind - check

- lots of enemies - check

- clear big open area with lots of debris and enemies - check

repeat.

 

I do like it, though. Just hope it varies up a bit.

Did you get CoD3 too? That should have some pretty wild online play...not so much the "Oops, I foolishly moved and got sniped" scenario of online play in CoD2.

no, didn't get it. I was actually hesitant to get GoW because I picked up Dead Rising 2 months ago and have played it a total of maybe 30 mins. I hate dropping $60 on a game and not playing through it before I get another. I couldn't pass up GoW though and just went ahead and got it. After I play through GoW and Dead Rising (should finish up sometime in the Summer of 07), I want to get the last Splinter Cell game next.

 

I just don't play too much. I have terrible ADD when it comes to games. The last time I turned on the 360 was a few weeks back. While it was loading up I switched the input to t.v. to see what was on... next thing I know an hour passed and I forgot I turned the system on. I never even made it past the start screen.

Bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion off EBAY.

 

Sweet game, great graphics. Lots of time killing fun to play.

Not super difficult, and sooo much to do I'm sure I am missing a lot.

 

When you guys get a new game, do you try to get through it on your own, or do you check for walkthroughs/cheats?

 

I will usually check out a walkthrough before I play, makes it more fun I guess. Hardly use cheats but am not against them!

Got to see Gears of war for Xbox 360 tonight. Unfocking real. I sat and watched for 30 minutes. Graphics are unreal. Story line is awesome.

I just play through on my own. I'll only check a walkthrough if I really really get stuck, you know those places where you have to do some stupid irrelevant thing to get to where you need to go, or in a case where you have to kill a boss in one particular way.

 

Mostly I don't finish games. I get my hours of enjoyment out of it without being concerned about reaching the end. A game has to be really good, like Perfect Dark Zero or GRAW, to hold my interest all the way through the single player campaign.

Same here. Really good games like the Zelda series I tend to finish (Conker's Bad Fur Day & RE4 were two of my favorites), but sometimes I just play until it gets tediously hard or I lose interest (Metroid Prime & Vuwtiful Joe).

 

As for 'cheats', I try to get through it on my own with no help, but will refer to a walkthrough when I really get stuck. Generally it turns out to be stuff like "move the painting" when I had been trying to move the focking painting but was standing in the wrong place.

 

Once I've beaten a game, I may then go back to unlock any extra crap using the walkthrough.

Same here. It is actually kind of rare for me to compeltely finish a game. As for the walkthroughs, if it's a game like GTA I'll buy the guide, just b/c there's so much crap in a game like that. Otherwise, I'll play on my own and if I get stuck I'll go online to find an answer...sometimes in a walkthrough...sometimes on a message board.

I bet I have 10-15 games in the past two years (on pc) that I haven't finished. All good games too, like HL2, CoD2, and others. I don't really get bored with them, it's just that my attention span is that of a 6 year old.

i had planned on getting one eventually most likely, as i miss NCAA. but the GOW reviews were off the charts, and everyone who has seen or played it raves. i didn't get much playing in last night, but i expect to be pretty bloody by the end of the night tonight. gonna get the live pass, if anyone is playing multi we should try and get a game going, more fun when you know who your team is.

Funny you guys say you have a lot of uncompleted games, cause I do too and at times felt guilty about it.

 

I never finished Baldur's Gate, Or Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas. I got through a lot of Tiger Woods Golf(as far as things to complete) then kind of gave up on it.

 

Did the SIMS, got bored

 

Now I am into this Elder Scrolls, not sure I will finish it though. And there really isn't a definitive finish with that game anyway.

 

Did get REAL close with GTA: Vice City though
