MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Whoo hooo! Now we will find out if there are more than two of us Panthers fans here during the offseason. With my luck g5jamz has to work tomorrow.
Portis26 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Panthers take RB -- Maroney would be the guy that fits Fox system - IMO; but I am sure they'll take Williams in a heartbeat if he is there
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I tend to agree. Some mocks have us taking some other RB with Williams still on the board, which is just crazy talk. I believe the reports of Coach Fox' interest in LenDale White, but I doubt he ever thought Williams would still be available when those rumors started. MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Exactly why I don't worry about the rumors of White being soft and lazy. Fox can take care of that. I have to confess I saw very little of Williams in college, so have to rely on the scouting reports and predraft hype, which is probably not the smartest thing. Fortunately I am not in the war room. I love Maroney but still think between the two White is a better fit. RBBC is the way to keep Foster healthy and productive. With this draft however, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we take some BPA at any position who we never expected to fall to us.
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 I have this sick feeling the Steelers will nab Williams now.... OK, Holmes. Our choice of RBs is ours! Please Bears don't trade. Well, OK, Bills don't need an RB either... whew, it's... who?? what?? I actually love this feature of continaully adding to the same post, makes me loots even more like an idiot. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DEANGELO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Orgazmo 2 Posted April 29, 2006 Does this hurt Eric Shelton's stock?
Belushi 9 Posted April 29, 2006 Goodbye Dehaun Foster. Hello Williams. Is Foster on the IR yet?
devildog 0 Posted April 29, 2006 It's the new age Minnesota Vikings.
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Does this hurt Eric Shelton's stock? Looks like they already knew Shelton is not the answer.
phillybear 366 Posted April 29, 2006 Williams is a very good RB. He had no offensive line whatsoever last year and a WR pressed into duty at QB, and was still very productive.

MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Goodbye Dehaun Foster. Hello Williams. Is Foster on the IR yet? RBBC with Foster and Williams means a healthy productive Foster for 16 games. We hope.
Wildman 0 Posted April 29, 2006 After Bush, Williams is my next favorite RB. Carolina is going to be in great shape this year. This team should contend. Williams is a special back and at best, he beats out Foster. At worst, he splits time and they put either one in the slot. Match up problems galore for opponents! famousb 11 Posted April 29, 2006 RBBC with Foster and Williams means a healthy productive Foster for 16 games. We hope. wasn't Foster originally supposed to split carries w/ Davis, but never could stay healthy for more than 2 carries?? if he's splitting w/ Williams, what's going to change? MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 wasn't Foster originally supposed to split carries w/ Davis, but never could stay healthy for more than 2 carries?? if he's splitting w/ Williams, what's going to change? It would take a different game plan for my RBBC dream to work out, but I think that will happen. We used them more in serial order last year rather than as a RBBC. I doubt we'll expect that much out of Foster again. Remember, the operative word in my statement is "hope."
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Is it too much to ask that Leonard Pope falls to us??? Please please please.
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Klop and now Fasano gone. please please please Pope Pope Pope please please please
jocstrap 8 Posted April 29, 2006 Is Steven Davis gone? He ended up with what 10td's or something last year? Vulturing Foster's 1 yarders. If Davis is gone then Foster or Williams should have 10+ td's. If not all three might get 6 td's each

whoisjgalt 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Replacing Manning Jr. with Richard Marshall.
MahSoonerz 0 Posted April 29, 2006 Not Pope! otoh, Marshall slid a long way so he may have been too good to pass up. God I hope so. Gotta go, back in a few hours.
Raider 84 29 Posted April 30, 2006 Panthers got a steal in Williams! Only a matter of time before Foster is a change of pace back or used on 3rd downs.
g5jamz 0 Posted May 1, 2006 If I'm not mistaken...DeShaun Foster was the next best receiver in Delhomme's arsenal. I'll have to go back and look at the stats. Foster in the slot would be awesome. Steve Smith - Mr. Untouchable Keyshawn Johnson - Solid Drew Carter - Burner Healthy Colbert - mmmm Foster slotted/RB - nice Williams - nice Goings and Hoover are just workhorses and will be good blockers The TE we drafted late is undersized BUT I believe Fox isn't looking for a receiver...he's looking for a slobberknocker for LBs and DBs to allow downfield running. At first I was skeptical about the DB picks we made...but after looking at their stats in the 40 yd dashes...size...and scouting on how well they hit. I'll trust Marty Hurney/John Fox before a pinhead like Clayton from ESPN.
MahSoonerz 0 Posted May 2, 2006 I tell you, that kid Anderson can hit and tackle. Three VaTech players is a bit intriguing. I also liked how we used our other lower picks on the OL. g5jamz you are absolutely correct that our offensive attack will be a sickness next year. I can't wait. Grades are dum but overall I am very happy with our draft.
