Burt 52 Posted May 4, 2006 I'll have to sample it before I waste any more money on them. But I did d-load Godsmack's new one (IV) and its pretty good.
Byars41 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Need more time. ....Yes, very helpful, I know... Nah. I completely agree. I can't judge an album until I listen to it about 100 times.
Rye & Leaf 0 Posted May 4, 2006 If you like the rootsy sound of old pearl jam you might like the band Gomez. Check out their catalog, including the album they just released a couple days ago: How We Operate.
Jeff Garcia 8 Posted May 4, 2006 I haven't listened to PJ since 2003, when I went to one of their concerts, and Eddie tried to push his political agenda on the crowd. Talking about how he hated Bush, blah blah blah. Just sing "Jeremy" damnit, I could care less how you feel about Bush. I go to a concert to listen to songs and see a performance, not to hear how much you dislike the current administration.

Check out their catalog, including the album they just released a couple days ago: How We Operate. i have a Gomez album "Liquid Skin". it has a couple good songs: i like "Devil Will Ride" and "Hangover" and is decent but ultimately i can take em or leave em. its a pretty good album but it didn't wow me enough for me to pick up anything else by them. kutulu 1,719 Posted June 2, 2006 Launch Radio Networks reports: PEARL JAM taped an episode of VH1's "Storytellers" on Wednesday night (May 31) at a small club in New York City, according to a press release. The band followed the program's traditional format by taking questions from the audience and telling the stories behind its songs as it performed new tracks and old hits before a packed crowd at the Avalon nightclub. "VH1 Storytellers: Pearl Jam" will premiere on VH1 on Saturday, July 1 at 10 p.m. ET.
phillybear 366 Posted June 2, 2006 Vitalogy was the last Pearl Jam album that I listened to, many years ago. I never really cared for them despite being a huge fan of grunge music. There were many, many more talented bands from that same genre. A co-worker lent me the new Pearl Jam CD for a listen a couple of weeks ago. Wow, what a train wreck. Boring, boring, boring. When did Pearl Jam become a mellow band with no teeth? I couldn't wait for the last song to be over.
bigbadbuff 0 Posted June 2, 2006 the new album is ###### fantastic- best since No Code. ALL Pearl Jam albums take several spins to get into, so does any album not pre-made for the radio. If you can't get behind tracks like Marker in the Sand, Parachutes, Come Back, etc. then you don't care for PJ, as those are some of the strongest songs they've ever done. Cdub100 3,996 Posted June 2, 2006 You're always saying you're too weak to be strong... You're harder on yourself than just about anyone. Why swim the channel just to get this far? Halfway there, why would you turn around? Darkness comes in waves,... tell me, why invite it to stay?
SmartassBoiler 0 Posted June 2, 2006 But I did d-load Godsmack's new one (IV) and its pretty good. Seriously? I thought it was easily their worst outing yet. It seems like they're trying to slow down their tempo and force some weird sort of southern rock into their sound. I don't really like it.
