kilroy69 1,035 Posted May 14, 2006 He has thrown out 1 of 33 runners trying to steal this year. That my friends is what you call a liability.

kilroy69 1,035 Posted May 14, 2006 Yea. He can't throw out anyone. His offensive numbers are good but his arm is HORRIBLE.
swamp dog 0 Posted May 14, 2006 Yea. He can't throw out anyone. His offensive numbers are good but his arm is HORRIBLE. sounds like a good candidate to become a dh or a first baseman.
BMoney 0 Posted May 14, 2006 maybe hes mike piazzas nephew... when you have HUGE numbers behind the plate..some teams are willing to overlook it...
kilroy69 1,035 Posted May 14, 2006 maybe hes mike piazzas nephew... when you have HUGE numbers behind the plate..some teams are willing to overlook it... I understand this but man thats terrible. He takes the double play out of the picture and makes a hit to the outfield a run scoring hit.
BMoney 0 Posted May 14, 2006 do the pitchers ever hold them close?... damian miller is past his prime, but capuano and doug davis always hold the runners close.. i dont recall seeing cookie crisp sabathia holding many runners close....
kilroy69 1,035 Posted May 14, 2006 Some do some don't but any cather worth his salt should be better than 1 for 33.
BMoney 0 Posted May 14, 2006 mike piazza was never good and will be a hof guy.. but i agree..the main spots on D are up the middle..catcher, ss, 2b and cf...

kraziness 0 Posted May 15, 2006 I haven't watched much baseball, but from what I hear, it's being blamed on the pitchers, not VM.
swirvenirvin 25 Posted May 15, 2006 He threw out Curtis Granderson
Riddlen 1 Posted May 15, 2006 I haven't watched much baseball, but from what I hear, it's being blamed on the pitchers, not VM. no, its definately victor martinesz. He has the worst arm. The ran a pitch out and got Granderson who is pretty fast, but it was still close. The guy mashes though.
George Carlin 1 Posted May 15, 2006 sounds like a good candidate to become a dh or a first baseman. They already have a DH that doesn't own a glove. Travis Hafner
Hitfreak 0 Posted May 15, 2006 They already have a DH that doesn't own a glove. Travis Hafner The Indians have a stud prospet of a catcher. (I can't remember his name) I wouldn't be surprised that next year Martinez will be moved to 1st base. Martinez is great with the bat, and okay behind the plate but his arm and footwork stink at throwing out the base stealers / runners.

TerrySilver 0 Posted May 15, 2006 yeah, victor martinez sucks, they should just trade him to the phillies since he sucks so bad
George Carlin 1 Posted May 15, 2006 yeah, victor martinez sucks, they should just trade him to the phillies since he sucks so bad Allowing stolen bases isn't as bad as you'd think. I'd like to see some stats. Every time someone steals a base, how often does he score?
BlackClouds 24 Posted May 15, 2006 Hitting .087 since I picked him up in our supp draft.
kraziness 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Also, being a catcher isn't just hitting and throwing. From what I hear, he calls a REALLY good game, and has only been playing C for a few years so they think he's still getting better.

Thier ERA is like last in the AL

kraziness 0 Posted May 16, 2006 calls are really good game? Thier ERA is like last in the AL Best in the AL last year, or in the top few They lost a couple really good pitchers last year, there's only so much a C can do. I'm not saying he's good, but I remember hearing that he calls a good game, handles the young pitchers pretty good, and oh yeah... he MASHES.
