pt_mck 7 Posted June 20, 2006 GO OILERS!!!!! Carolina looked like they didn't have anything left in the tank in game 6 and the Oilers looked like they were fresh and energized!!! Pronger wins the Conn Smythe if Oilers win tonight and Brind'Amour if the Canes win.
Thin Spirit 0 Posted June 20, 2006 They are IN Carolina and still half the audience is singing the Canadian National anthem...focking eh!! GO OILERS!

texasmouth 1 Posted June 20, 2006 I hate hockey, I admit it. I dont understand the rules and I have never watched an entire game. But......I went to New York New York and watched the game at the ESPNzone with a bunch of Canada's finest and it was pretty exciting. I am not sitting here watching the game and enjoying the heck out of it. I am pulling for Carolina just becuase people from Canada are too cocky as it is. pt_mck 7 Posted June 20, 2006 Why was there no penalty shot? Staios covered the puck in his own crease
p.man 7 Posted June 20, 2006 Why was there no penalty shot? Staios covered the puck in his own crease Just going by what was said. They said that the puck was touched and because of that there was a face off instead of a penalty shot. Great action in this game though. This is what a game 7 is all about. SUXBNME 1,484 Posted June 20, 2006 If you're not watching this game, what are you waiting for? TURN THIS GAME ON NOW! I have my parental control on my TV programed to not allow watching "stuff that sux" HTH
thePIMPmaster 0 Posted June 20, 2006 If you're not watching this game, what are you waiting for? TURN THIS GAME ON NOW! I watched the NBA game last night. No comparison. This is so much more exciting. End to end non stop action. The fans have been standing the entire game. A little different than a time out after every single basket in the last 1:30 of the game last night.
p.man 7 Posted June 20, 2006 Carolina with the pressure. 3 min to go! What a shot and save!! Oh what a game. And the Oilers will be on a power play. These next 2 min should be fun to watch. If the Oilers don't score in the next few minutes it's going to be really fun watching the last minute with them having to pull the goalie. CAROLINA SCORE!!! 3-1 THIS ONE IS OVER! This was a fun game to watch tonight. WOW!
SUXBNME 1,484 Posted June 20, 2006 3-1 THIS ONE IS OVER! Hopefully the thread too?
DBZFan2K 0 Posted June 20, 2006 Take THAT, Canada! Maybe it'll be the Montreal bandwagon next year? Carolina is seconds away from winning their first ever Stanley Cup! Congrats to the Canes for winning the Cup, and the Oilers for a hell of a postseason run.
pt_mck 7 Posted June 20, 2006 Wow what a he!!uva game 7! Anyone who didn't watch doesn't know what they are missing. One Hockey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Basketball for excitement. CAM Ward for Conn Smythe?!?!?! He was good but he hd to be pulled a couple times. Brind'Amour deserved it.
p.man 7 Posted June 20, 2006 The only thing I don't like about Hockey is that it comes to a close at the end of June. Another 11 days and it's July. I think they need to end the Finals before the end of May.

p.man 7 Posted June 20, 2006 You are correct. But the season started October 6th So 8 1/2 months is ok for the Hockey season? Football starts the 1st week of September and it's over by the end of Dec or the 1st week of Jan. The S.Bowl now ends on the 1st week of Feb. That's only 5 months for the regular/playoff season. And they only play 1 time a week.
pt_mck 7 Posted June 20, 2006 So 8 1/2 months is ok for the Hockey season? It currently is the same length as the basketball season. With the NHL participating in the Olympics this year it extended the season by 2 weeks.
p.man 7 Posted June 20, 2006 It currently is the same length as the basketball season. With the NHL participating in the Olympics this year it extended the season by 2 weeks. You're right about the Olympics. But doesn't the Hockey season usually still end in June? I'd like the Basketball season to start much later. I 'd like to see them start the 2nd week of Feb and end the finals in the 2nd week of Aug. But I know they wont do that because they have a hard enough time with the ratings when the people are in their homes more due to winter. It was a thought. Riddlen 1 Posted June 20, 2006 I actually wathced the end after the Tigers game ended. Nice work Canes. hockey still behlows.

Long Season either way. NHL actually requested that ice hockey be included in the summer Olympics. 82 game reg season for more revenue plus 4 playoff rounds can only be squeezed and compressed so much. Now you say they want more revenue and I'm sure you're right, but why the hell can't the Devils draw a crowd? Even when they've won the Stanley Cup nobody came to see them. The place had thosands of empty seats. It makes me so
thePIMPmaster 0 Posted June 20, 2006 The Carolina fans seemes clueless at the end. When they were skating around with the Cup they just stood there and barely cheered. Odd, most of the game they were very loud and standing up the whole time.

naomi 356 Posted June 20, 2006 That was a hell of a lot of fun to watch I thought Cam Ward would get the Conn Smythe. On the other hand the fact he's 22 and has achieved that makes me feel old. But great game

TommyGavin 790 Posted June 20, 2006 NBCs coverage sucked. 3/4 way through celebration BOOM news and/or Leno. Tried to ride the ratings into the program. Great game - lots of fun and action.

GobbleDog 992 Posted June 20, 2006 Damn. Great series... but since I was rooting for the Oilers, I thought the game was a little frustrating. The Oilers got off a few good shots in the 3rd, but most of the time it looked like they couldn't get good control of the puck. Carolina's defense just kept screwing them up. The radio people were saying the ceremony afterwards seemed like the shortest Stanley Cup ceremony ever. No skating around the whole rink holding the Cup over their heads. Just a short 2 second skate and then passing it off. Apparently, NBC was ready to get the hell out of there. Oh well. Congrats Carolina. And I hope yall miss the playoffs next year. punks. kutulu 1,670 Posted June 20, 2006 And you picked a fun game to watch. There have been some big hits in this one. Yeah, glad I watched it. Haven't watched hockey in years but used to be a big fan in the early 80's....course it was easy being from Long Island and the Islanders ruled the sport there for a few years. Also, went to countless Adirondak Red Wing games (AHL) back then too....Detroits old farm team. Was always cool when they used to scrape the blood off the ice....don't see that quite so much nowadays.
