Fervid Ro 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Just buy the kayak. And tell her she's lucky you don't want to spend as much on it as you did on her ring. I use mine every time I go back to Va. It's at my parent's house. Too bad they live so far away. Just curious -are you talking a sea kayak or a river kayak?

Why would your kayak be in VA when some of the best rivers are right outside your back door?

lagarzlebrew 0 Posted September 16, 2006 I cannot Kayak on account that I am too fat. 230lbs in a little boat just does not sound like fun to me.
CantTouchThis 23 Posted September 16, 2006 I kayak to fish mainly, i just had a recreational kayak, only 9.5 feet, but, it is wide and very stable and can hold a lot of stuff. Really awesome to go portaging in because it's light. Recently, have just been using a motor boat to go in the big lake to fish, but, any island lake i use my kayak. Bill E. 676 Posted September 17, 2006 We live on a tidal creek and I have two. I usually go out twice a week for an hour or so. It is nice enough here to use it all year long.

zmanzzzz 1 Posted September 17, 2006 I hear they have boats with some kind of mechanical motor these days. ive heard we are trying to go in a direction that doesnt burn fossil fuels or pollute the fish habitat, but maybe that's just me. You should ask this of people from New Orleans i was considering running for the governership of louisiana on the platform that every human living underneith sea level has to own or have access to a boat. kinda like the fire escape or life raft concept. how focking smart am i? admit it. D'ohmer Simpson 0 Posted September 18, 2006 You should get one. It is one of the few forms of excercise that is fun. Our neighbor has said we could borrow his anytime we wanted. I would try it, but only when the ocean was calm. Maybe take it out on the bay first?
