phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Montreal get the ball back on a punt, and runs out the last few minutes of the game with some great execution. Sweet. Dog wins outright. 3 unit play on the moneyline, pays out 4.35 units. My biggest money line hit so far this year. Come on South Florida. Stupid shanked punt will fock us again. Gotta hold them to a FG.
GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Finally found an in-game line with some value: South Florida +5.5 (+150) Hopefully, they miss the FG or better, but their kicker has some leg.

Win some. Lose some. The money line was great with Montreal, but cost me with So Flor. The money line giveth, the money line taketh away. Still, can't complain when you pick up 4.35 units of profit on the night. I know that not many of you follow my Canadian football games, or take moneyline dogs, so I am hoping that enough of you took South Florida tonight, and if you lost on the So Miss game, at least are break even on the week. I hope. Anyway.... phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Interesting to note, depending on what lines you got, all four dogs covered in the weekday games. And all four public darlings lost. The betting public is in chasing mode, while the sports books cleaned up. Since I don't usually follow the betting public on weekdays, this doesn't affect me, but it migh affect some of you out there. Beware of traps on Saturday, as the sports books sharks are smelling blood in the water, people chasing lost money, and there will be traps this weekend on high profile games. Tread carefully. The season is a grind; it's a long journey, where all you want to do is turn a small profit. Don't risk your whole bankroll chasing. It usually ends badly. I have seen it time and time again. Good luck to everyone on Saturday. We have 3300+ view on this thread, and we haven't even reached Saturday yet. Let's go for 5000+ views. Had USF +4.5, there's NO WAY I should have won that.....But instead Welcome to my world of betting underdogs.
Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted September 30, 2006 I just popped the top off a bottle of Grey Goose. Going to do a quick shot 80/20 with some cranberry to calm my friggin nerves from that QB Gothe who gave me a heart attack tonight.
phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Here is my take on tonights game. I have seen RU play pretty much every game for many years (I know, I'm a glutton for punishment). Anyway, this RU team is a different team. I know that there is a lot of media hype for this team because they were so bad for so long, but I say that if you are considering putting any money on South Florida tonight be very careful. Rutgers defense has been absolutely unbelievable this year. They have given up 14 points total the last 3 weeks - one TD was a defensive score in garbage time, the other a TD after a turnover gave the opponent the ball on the 17 yard line. Against Carolina, most of the yardage was in the first half of the first game of the season. The D is extremely fast, and Schiano has really turned them into a difference maker. As for the offense, I really don't see how with all of the injuries and suspensions that the South Florida D can stop RU's running game. Between Rice and Leonard I'm not sure too many teams will stop them. RU's QB play has been shaky at best, but there are playmakers on that offense that should be able to compensate. In past years, I would say this is the perfect situation for RU to let down and lose a nationally televised game. But I think South Florida is overmatched pretty much all over the field tonight. I'm not that concerned over the betting trends, etc. in this matchup. I look at both teams and I see Rutgers as a much better team with something to prove. Rutgers -4. 3 Units. It was just back luck with So Flor with a back door cover. Keep posting with your Rutgers perspective. I know that I will be looking for it in weeks to come. There is no way I can watch every game, and box scores only tell us so much. I get some Rutgers games in the Philadelphia market, but not all. Keep the info coming, dude. Sincerely. And goes for all of you fans of your home town teams or alma maters. I just popped the top off a bottle of Grey Goose. Going to do a quick shot 80/20 with some cranberry to calm my friggin nerves from that QB Gothe who gave me a heart attack tonight. I've been chugging shots of Bacardi Rum. I am a recently diagnosed diabetic that has limited alcohol choices. Bacardi is: "No sugar, no carbs". Chasing with diet soda. Dammit. My book still hasn't posted moneylines for tomorrow. That is killing me. I just want to lock in my last couple of bets, and maybe go out for the night. Fock, I am in a good mood. I hope that I am feeling the same way after tomorrow's game. It's nice to have a paid day off coming up on Monday so I can get blasted watching the Seattle game on Sunday night.

GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Thought some of you might find this interesting: Not sure if any of you listen to Howard Stern's show on Sirius (I'm an Opie & Anthony/XM guy myself), but he has a guy doing nights on his channel named Scott Ferrall. He's apparently one of these fast-talking loudmouths that rambles on about pretty much everything. Stern thought he was different so he gave him a shot in the evening timeslot. Anyway, one of Stern's producers mentioned that he follows Ferrall's picks on his web site and has actually made good money taking all of his games. He considers himself a "guru of locks". Not sure how much creedence this has, but may be worth looking into. phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 (I'm an Opie & Anthony/XM guy myself) You are a smart man. I listened to Stern for 17+ years in the Philadelphia market, and as the years went on, I hated the show with a passion. Stern left, nothing to listen to for a couple of months, and all of the sudden Opie and Anthony, with the brilliant Jim Norton ride to the rescue. Opie and Anthony are mean spirited, politically incorrect, and more importantly, FUNNY. And currently syndicated to 25+ markets. I have formed an odd aliance with Gutterboy on the Geek Bored. Fighting the fanatical yet dwindling number of Stern zombies in many threads. Keep an eye on Kidd Chris, afternoon drive time. He originates out of Philadelphia. He went to #1 in all key demagraphics in Phila in a couple of months. He got syndicated to Pittsburgh a couple of months ago. He is a rising star, despite being a Stern disciple, as he was a writer and bit contributor for a couple of years on the Stern show. He penned the Sulu Dance song, and made all those memorable cranck calls to OJ Simpson that have been replayed on many morning shows. He has a fantastic cast o characters that appear on his show. WE got us a team, baby. Here's my picks. (I did read Ditka's picks first, FYI) Had USF last night. Sitting at the bar and my book gives me USF -6.5 right after Rut scores their first TD. I jumped. Came home buzzed. Thought I lost. Then WON. nice. I think Penn st is way better than NW. Way better. I think Wis is was better than Indiana. Wat better. My fav picl of the day is UConn. They play them some sports up there in Conn. Navy plays every play the entire game, all the time. Props to the them for that, but Uconn will double them up. (I stayed away from Boise st @ Utah cuz I got a funny feeling. (I don't gamble if I'm in doubt. I have doubts but like BST.) I like Fla. I'm w/ Ditak in that I'm an Urban Fan. They should beat Ala handily. I like Iowa but still don't know if I can pull the trigger. Help would be nice here. I'm on Northern Ill. They recruited me to wrestle there so I got a soft spot for them. That said the play good FB there. I like the big blue. Minn isn't what they were. Michigan is on a nice roll. Fresno st should roll at home. Nevada at home is it for now. What do you all think?

GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Hey OGAR. Great to see you're still around. I've actually been doing quite well thanks to Ditka's amazing success, timely in-game live betting, and some solid NFL prop plays. I also have been hitting up a bunch of different books for a variety of bonuses (which is why I currently have four outs with money in them and that could change if I got killed today!) Your boys looking outstanding. Great to see Grossman finally showing what he could do. Speaks volumes about the Bears' organization: There aren't many teams willing to give a player that used to get injured tying his shoes this many chances to prove he's the real deal. The end of last season, this preseason, and the start of 2006 shows the Bears are 110% behind him, and he's rewarding them with some of the best QB play the team has seen in a long time. Wish I could say the same for my boys. I don't know when they decided that NFL games start in the 4th quarter, but they really haven't looked good at all. Eli's stats are essentially garbage time and they had no right winning at Philly (although I love that they did!) I didn't expect them to beat Indy & was happy they kept it close, but their lack of effort has been discouraging. It's still way early and at least they aren't laying down to divisional opponents...yet. Hope you're making a killing so far. As I said with my picks, I'll be in a very good spot with even a mediocre day today. Best of luck to you and I hope to see your posts more often!

GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Hey talk to me about Plaxico!!??! Any Coughlin?? Are you all doinng crack up there or what?? No clue what the deal is there. If there was any conflict it was shadowed by Shockey's latest comments. You can't hold too much against a guy like Plaxico that has been one of the teams best new signings in a while (unlike a certain guy whose name rhymes with "Javar Barrington".)
