The Shepherd 10 Posted September 30, 2006 No clue what the deal is there. If there was any conflict it was shadowed by Shockey's latest comments. You can't hold too much against a guy like Plaxico that has been one of the teams best new signings in a while (unlike a certain guy whose name rhymes with "Javar Barrington".)Can one of you regulars here tell m a good safe site to get on and bet? One where you give the credit card number and they zap it for say$50 and you can get going on todays game - and they don't go rampant with your card later, or refuse to pay if you win. I'd like to give this a crack today, and would appreciate input, especially from Ogar, Philley bear and some of you guys I've seen on the site over the last 5 years.Thanks. phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Hey Phillybear just wondering your view on the Boise St. game and the Iowa game why u were leaning the way u were. Strong home field advantage, with Iowa is 26-6 ATS last 32 at home; Iowa is 15-1 SU at home last 16. First time as a home dog since 2003. Very solid defense, veteran QB, Iowa has the talent to hang with Ohio St. Ohio St very sluggish against Cincinnati and Penn St last couple of weeks, with some miracle covers late. I wonder if it's lack of emotion, or maybe they just aren't as good as we all think they are. Utah is 24-5 SU at home last 29. I really like this Utah team, almost as much as Hawaii. After not covering any of their first 9 games last year, Utah has very, very quietly put together a nice run since then, keyed by a high powered offense and ball hawking defense. They lost week one to UCLA, then blew out 3 straight opponents. Boise St is not very good on the road, struggled against a below average Wyoming team earlier on the road. Boise St can run the ball pretty well, but with Hawkins gone as head coach, Zabransky doesn't look all that great early on. Looks too obvious to take Boise St in this game. Contrarian play. The line kept going up all week, despite the money being on Boise St. Boise 3-7 ATS on road last 10.

jmueller44 0 Posted September 30, 2006 I, personally, have used www.sportsbook.com (ID# 983484571 - PM for more info) for the past 5-6 years and have never had any problems. Other than updating my address when I moved. But they have simplified the process of doing that now. It is just good security. I have hear a couple of stories where players didn't get their money when asked to withdraw, but those were on-line stories. Nobody I've ever known personally has had any issues. phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Some guy on an online contest is trying to win his 21st pick in a row. If someone can pull that amazing feat off, they win $100,000. He took Arizona St today.

GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Thanks GR - you're one of the guys I was hoping to hear from. I saw something about these betting sites not paying winnings or worse stunts. Are the ones you listed all safe - can you recommend one especially? Thanks I can vouch for the first three (particularly Olympic). Sportingbetusa is actually an offshoot of sportsbook.com (same technology, interface, and odds; just different site design) so I know management operates as reliably as Sportsbook. Others I use like VIPSports (or "VIP") are solid books but they aren't easy to make credit card deposits. BoDog actually allows you to pay using your checking account info. It's a viable option if you have a limited amount of funds in your account (and don't use it to rely on bills). If you're looking for something quick and easy with fantastic lines, flip a coin between Olympic (www.thegreek.com) or Sportsbook (www.sportsbook.com). American Chewy 98 Posted September 30, 2006 www.thesportsbookreview.com theres a site that reviews sportsbooks. i use pinnaclesports.com and have been quite pleased. they have lower juice on most popular sports, very fast payouts, and if you want you can bet as low as a $1 on anything. also, you can fund immediately through just about anything, i would suggest neteller or directly from your checking acct. ROCKET 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Hi all, I've been laying low for the first 3 weeks or so and have'nt bet that many games. I'm up a whopping 90 bucks so far. Glad to see most of you are doing well so far. Today I'm playing a boat load of games as I have a nasty frigin cold that won't go away and I'm stuck at home all day. Early Plays ( I play all 50$ plays and rarely ever go higher) Colorado +14.5 Wyoming +5 Virginia -4 (they suck but so does Duke) Bowling Green +6.5 and over 45.5 Akron -2.5 Army -10 Toledo +16.5 Like PB I also like Utah and Iowa later among some others I'm going to wager. GL everyone
American Chewy 98 Posted September 30, 2006 pitt up 17 already, navy up 14-3, illinois up 7-3 duke though getting blown out 17-0 grrrr and i'm not liking how this missouri game is starting. but mizzou has started fast and finished slow, i'm counting on some turnovers in that one. least colorado has shown they can move the ball. Navy just gave up another TD (up only 17-10 now). I'm more nervous than others because I took the ML even after the missed PAT debacle last week. Giving up on Duke already (need 18 points just to push) and unless there's a barrage of scoring in the Tenn game, my parlay's kicked. Not a good start to the day, but most of my action is late afternoon/evening.
phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Adding Mich St (-13.5) 2nd H for 1 unit Waiting for a Navy 2nd H line. The only reason this game is not a blow out is that Navy is self destructing with a zillion penalties. Adding Navy 2nd H (+.5)@-105 for 1 unit

The only reason this game is not a blow out is that Navy is self destructing with a zillion penalties. Adding Navy 2nd H (+.5)@-105 for 1 unit kinda figured mich st would come out flat this week after how they blew the game last week. i didnt think illinois would really have a chance to win though! guh 21-6 missouri at half. colorado bobbled the snap on a punt and gave mu the ball at the 15 right before half. colorado is actually running the ball great in this game and hasn't punted yet. 2 fg's, they went for it on 4th and goal and didn't get it, and went for it on 4th down at the 45 yard line and didn't get it. hawkins is at least playing to win. still waiting for mizzou to make some mistakes. TD NAVY! TD PITT! good multi unit picks so far philly. dont wanna jinx it yet though
GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Ecch...Tennessee gave me some hope, but killed too much clock on Memphis' goalline stance and got no points out of it. Will need one hell of a garbage-time quarter to make this work.

GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Holy crap! The Tenn-Memphis Over hit thanks to a timely Memphis fumble recovery as Tenn. tried to run the clock out! Anyone know why the LSU game is delayed? I'm four points away from hitting my parlay there!
American Chewy 98 Posted September 30, 2006 maybe a dumb question, but does overtime count for 2nd half bets?
GiantsRule 0 Posted September 30, 2006 maybe a dumb question, but does overtime count for 2nd half bets? Yes (hope that answer helps you rather than hurts you). SportsCenter confirmed there's lightning in Baton Rouge. Still 25 minutes left to get me four lousy points so I hope they are sent back out there. If not, I guess I'll have to settle for a smaller 2-team winner. I should be glad to get it after I lucked out in the Tenn-Memphis game!

phillybear 366 Posted September 30, 2006 Utah and Florida are complete disasters at this point. Adding: San Jose St 1st H (+.5)@-105 for 3 units Wrong team favored. San Jose St is underrated, and very improved this year. :fingerscrossed:
