Whats the best way to get from Laguardia to Midtown NYC?

Recommended Posts

Does the NY subway run to Laguardia? Should I just take the bus?

I've always driven to NYC so never had this problem. Yes, I checked the website, if YOU can find it, give me a link.

make a left, go a few blocks, then hang another left. 1/2 mile or so down, take a right.

What brings you to new york, hardware?

Mrs. H rounds out her business trip in NY this next weekend and I'm flying in to meet her. Free weekend stay at a Midtown hotel and comped meals? Yes, please.

Do you find it more enjoyable to rifle through a guest's panties when you know her husband via an anonymous message board? :dunno:

Must be a nice place! Only one block from the Park? I'll come and TP your stoop.

it's like 4 blocks from the park. btw, my stoop is heavily guarded by the local bum. Winter time, he chills on our stoop, but in the summer, he sleeps in the lobby of the Wachovia bank around the corner

subway to bus or just bus - either way

I don't understand why anyone would CHOOSE to do this. A cab or, better yet a car service is the way to go.

I've never taken a cab from Laguardia. I get in on a Friday morning, I'm afraid it would cost $50 for a cab if I get stuck in traffic. A car service is just as expensive. The Hotel may have a shuttle, but since I'm not the registered guest I don't know if I can take advantage.

But I remembered - I'm meeting the misses at the airport and her cab will be comped so I'll just ride with her and its not an issue, but it made for an interesting thread. I'll definitely check out those food joints.

I'm pretty sure it's a standard rate to/from the airports.

I don't think it's a flat rate, but there is something posted in the cabs about rates to and from the airports.

It's been awhile since I've done it, but I think you could get into the city in a cab for $30-$35.

It really does suck that the subway system can't take you straight there and back. I'm sure there have been many proposals to make that happen over the years, but someone smarter than me has always figured out why it isn't feasible.

They recently set it up so you can get to JFK via the subway.

Beantown! Center of the Universe :pointstosky: to NYC 53rd and 6th - Hilton.

I have stayed there a few times for work when I can get a decent rate. It is a great hotel.

They also have a nice taxi stand out front that I use to head back to the airport even when I don't stay there.

A cab from Laguardia should be in the mid 30s. Even at rush hour in the morning.

The last four times i've been there, a cab from LGA to 23rd and 3rd ran about 30 bucks. Might be a little less for farther north.

Will be back again on Nov. 16

Greatest city on earth :P
