GiantsRule 0 Posted October 28, 2006 Yer Mom: I need a winner, buddy. Having my worst run of the season. Almost had a shot at a 6-team parlay but f'n Georgia Tech turned it on at the end and Miami kept turning the ball over. Going 1-5 is worse than 0-6! Only bets pending are the first half Over in the Texas game (Over 27.5) and this pending If Bet in the WAC games (still need 8 in the Nevada game and 73 in the Hawaii game). Anything late that you're confident in? I missed out on your late winners as it is and it's frustrating the piss out of me!
swirvenirvin 25 Posted October 28, 2006 Is anyone else listening to the USC OSU game?? This is why FSN does not do college football, I have never heard an annoucer dumber then this guy... GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted October 28, 2006 Tennessee at South Carolina...............Ten -3.5 total is 43.5 Tennessee is the 8th ranked team and SC is 32nd in the voting but has home field here. This game is on deck next. This is redemption time for Tennessee. They lost by one point to these guys last year. Common games have Georgia where Tennessee beat Georgia in Georgia 51-33 where SC lost to Georgia 18-0 in SC. Kind of scary that Jason Swain won't be playing for Tennessee today. Swain is the #2 receiver for Tennessee. The line just changed to Tennessee -4.........5 minutes and counting... Who likes Tennessee?

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted October 28, 2006 What's happening to Texas? A 10 point favorite, Texas is losing 21-0 in the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Is Texas going to be exposed as a fraud like USC or will they come from behind and be champions like Wisconsin? I can't wait to see the half time line on this game. Edited to add it is now 21-7 Texas Tech. Me likey Texas if I get a nice halftime line. 2nd Edit to add that Tech goes for a field goal when they should've drove for the touchdown on the one yard line. Tech 24 Tex 7 3rd edit to add that Texas is coming back quick. It's now Tech24 and Tex 14............... Tex is coming back too quick maybe 4th edit to add that Texas just took advantage of a fumble and now passed for another touchdown making it Tech 24 Tex21 5th edit to add that Tech just burned Tex for a touchdown. Tex can't stop these guys....injury riddled, I think.... Tech 31 Tex

GiantsRule 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Didn't expect the 2nd half total to come in this low. I'm hoping Texas turns it up in the 2nd half to cover this: 2H Texas-Texas Tech Over 28 (-125) - Double unit play I hope this was the right move. I'm essentially letting my halftime over ride on this one. Could have gotten regular odds for Over 29, but wanted to grab this before the book bumped it up. Good luck to anyone else taking it. Let's hit this...PLEASE?!?

I hope I don't mush you out of another deserving win though. I've been putrid today. Waited too long as it is. Could have had it for a dime cheaper, but I shopped around first. Now, many books at Over 29.5 (-120). This could move against us, as long as Hawaii hits 73 or more. Is it raining out there or are sharps pounding the under? I still look at the fact no Idaho game has gone over 68 points this year so that may have something to do with it. Otherwise a gameplan perhaps eeked out of the locker room with info that there will be a sh!tload of running perhaps, not sure. Still ridin it at 68.5!! Good Luck!! GiantsRule 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Why does this sh!t always happen to me? Seriously? Texas scores a touchdown with 9 minutes to go. I wait and wait for the extra point. It never happens. Turns out they somehow never got in the end zone and then Texas dawdled until they get into the endzone with less than 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter! It's like they know I have money on this game. Bad enough I need 3 more TDs just to push; I don't need a falsely reported TD that needs to burn more time off the clock than is necessary! Four scores and three conversions in 20 minutes? Yeah, this thing ain't hitting. Unbelievable. I could lose a bet over what my name is right now!
Yer mom 2 Posted October 29, 2006 I still think this Texas game will go over the 2nd half.....got a strange feeling that both teams will score in the 40's. Could be wrong. KC Chef Jeff 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Here's my play "o" the day. Love the over on Texas/Texas Tech first half at 28, and here's why. There is some value in public perception as Texas only scored 22 last week. But the game was in crappy Nebraska weather and Texas still left at least 10 pts on the field. The past two meetings have been 41 and 38 pts at the half respectively. Texas is avging 24.5 in first half, giving up 6.9 = 31 Texas Tech is avging 18.6 in first half, giving up 12.4 = 31 The weather will be 71 degrees and sunny with a light 10-15 mph wind. This will not effect Tech's passing game. Tech has an improved defense this year (yardage-wise), which made me pause, but they have given up 26, 27, 30, 38 in their last 4 games. The entire game total of 56 looks attractive too, with the last two meetings totaling 69 and 72. Yes there will be no Vince Young on the field, but I see halftime score of Texas 24, Tech 10 and final score of Texas 37, Tech 24. If either team converts turnovers into points, score could be much much higher. Lotsa points please BOO yeah brzrboy, nicely done! Very nice. 52 friggin' pts in one half. Un buh REE vable. Was it over 28 at end of 1st qtr? Hehe.
phillybear 366 Posted October 29, 2006 East Carolina is still alive. 4th and goal from the 1, 17 seconds to go. TD. Probably headed to OT. Unless the are reviewing it. Maryland blocks the kick. Nice. Took the over in the 2nd half here thinkin -120 was better than Texas -7 -140....tried to save $40!! GiantsRule 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Don't we all, but soliciting people on a message board is not the way... Dude, I've been doing the same schtick since the season started. Many have signed up and enjoyed the sportsbook. Most of the time it's tongue in cheek and now that I've had the disasterous weekend I've expected for so long, I figured I'd plug it heavier, partially as a joke and partially to gauge further interest. I don't expect anyone to take me seriously.

When it happens to me, I sit back for a week or two to get my bearings back.... It's all good. Seriously. Honestly, I was going to bash you and then thought better about it because I know you weren't talking down to me and your intentions might have been good (which they obviously were). I'm glad I held back. I guess I've just become jaded by my success to date and forgot it was indeed possible to sh!t the bed. In addition to losing most of my games, I also made some stupid decisions when I did win (had BYU -9 and then threw money on BYU -3 in the 2nd half which lost). I easily won Texas Tech-Texas Over 27.5 for the first half and then let it ride on Over 28 for the second half. I did the one thing smart gamblers should never do: Chase their losses. And it bit me in the ass hardcore today. No matter how well you're doing, it's inevitable to hit a losing streak. If there's a bright side, it's that I've kept my units relatively the same since the season started (if this was the week I chose to double up, I'd be completely tapped). Pushing the referral system seems innocent when things are going well, but can certainly come across as desparate and annoying after a bad day (OK, it's both of those things when things are going well, too.) Thanks for sharing your thoughts and discussing this rationally like an adult!
