The Moz 69 Posted July 7, 2004 was almost going to take Urlacher -- but needed a QB more -- actually was hoping he would of made it back around ( i thought he had a better chance than Favre at making it back to me guess not )
Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 This is going great. I've got every one of my #1 choices since round 1, and most of them were about to be statched up a pick or two later had I not taken them.

football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I like the Trent Green pick. He wouldn't have lasted, and IMO he's better than Brooks, who I think should have gone after both Hasselbeck & Green.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 If you seek reference updates you need patience. I'm doing three things at once. Check the end of Round 5 and beginning of Round 6 before picking please. I'll have it all caught up in 15 minutes. oh and... MCNAIR!!
Grigs Allmoon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 oh and... MCNAIR!! Yeah, he was next on my list behind Green, but I think Green's numbers will go up a little this year from last, and he finished 3rd in the leagu I had him last year. Great value, IMO.

"7/5/04, 10:07 AM. Dear diary....today the fantasy draft went swimmingly. I got Travis Henry because some loser named Scooter couldn't get back from lunch in time. Had this been a real draft,I'd have Barlow now instead. Oh my stars...whatever would I have done?" lol

Not like I was sitting there waiting for the updates. lol and btw - I sincerely hope you're planning to take a quality QB on the way back up. Once again, McNair will lead the league in "questionable" status.
Bouve 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Zap, I am back and will make my picks when they come up. Thanks
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 7, 2004 Bouve - If you're not happy with the Curtis Martin pick back in round 4 I'll swap Eric Moulds for him one-for-one. I actually had CuMar and A Johnson on my short list before they were snatched up just in front of me.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Ooh a trade offer. I like that. And an interesting one since Bouve picked Suggs after being given Martin.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 7, 2004 Little QB run going here. So scooter, where did Urlacher rank at the end of the season amongst LB last year? But now he has Lovie Smith... and where did the Rams LB rank last year? Interesting pick to me that Urlacher still rates so high after a dismal 2003.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 PackerAaron's Rd 5 list that he abandoned for a TE still has a name on it that has fallen back to him. I'll give him until the bottom of the hour and use that list to keep us moving. Urlacher should recover given the changes in Chicago. Does it warrant the #2 LB ranking? I have him ranked a bit lower. I actually had CuMar and A Johnson on my short list before they were snatched up just in front of me. I'll hold onto Martin even though he is consistently on my do not draft under any circumstances list. I am pretty set at RB and pickings are getting slim, still plenty of WR's with upside left for me to choose from. On a side note I am using the draft buddy for this draft and its very smooth. Kudos. football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 We all have our opinions. What I observed was that last year he was locked up. This year he'll be roaming, free to terrorize the QB. My money says he's a top 3 defensive player this year. That system and his ability are a perfect fit. A slight reach perhaps, but I didn't think he'd make it back up to me, and though you might disagree, I think last year was the anomoly and this year he'll be back in business. I might have been able to let him slip through, had I a more centralized draft spot - but the looooong wait made me think that a mini-run on D might start up in this round or the next, in which case I'd have missed not only Urlacher, but also the three other guys I have ranked on about par with him. but I do recommend him this year - especially since FFB managers have *very* short memories. Good to wait, and draft the guys who burned teams with underachieving or injury the previous season - in my leagues, I can usually get them a round or two after they should have gone. Urlacher is a prime example of that kind of player, in my opinion - he played in a scheme that was a terrible fit for his abilities and took him out of way too many plays. But like I said, I lacked the position to take advantage and let him slip.
Butcher 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I'm all for using his list. I've been waiting for 20 minutes to leave work. It's an hour drive.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Doing it right now. Sorry, just trying to extend a little courtesy. It's worked out more often than not. You guys have been great. BleedingEagles-- I'm much more lenient at night as far as time limits, but my basic rule of thumb concerns how many are waiting, so be sure to check in often. I thought you were taking your ball and going home, anyway. lol
football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I was thinking Chambers might sneak back up to me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Glad it's not a real draft. somehow just as frustrating though - good competitive league though, so great practice. Thanks again guys, and especially Zap for doing all the legwork. I've managed a couple of these on the Fanhome Fantasy forum now, and they are a ton of work. I like the individual positional listings as well as the team rosters - a ncie touch that I think I will employ for the next one I run. Gives a great overall impression at a glance and creates a list you don't ordinarily see.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 7, 2004 On a side note I am using the draft buddy for this draft and its very smooth. Kudos. Does the compiler and buddy work with Quatro? I'm not sure but I have my doubts. The problem is Compiler and Buddy need Visual Basic to run the macros, not to mention Excel advanced formulas which could be different or not supported in Quatro. I think one person told me they were using Open Office (Microsoft knock-off) but I'm not sure that results in a fully-functioning Compiler and Buddy either. Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Bluepointer took Chambers turning the last corner... Sigh... Butcher... helloooooooo.... You still with us bud???
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 7, 2004 Yes, a good bet if Aaron was considering McCareins in rd 5 he would jump at the chance to nab him in rd 6.
Bouve 0 Posted July 7, 2004 give him another WR and lets keep it moving.
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Crap, going to the consensus for Butcher... he'll have to understand. I caught the mistake pretty fast. And we have no idea how long he'll be down getting home from work, eating etc... He's been very consistent. Gimme five minutes Bouve...
Zap 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Charles Rogers is right behind Chambers on the consensus. Fair enough?
football_scooter 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Charles Rogers is right behind Chambers on the consensus. Fair enough? I think that's a fine pick. If CRog made it back up to me I'd want him. he's no chambers, but then, Chambers wasn't available because of that very reason. lol

Butcher 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Obviously I didn't see Chambers taken. Sorry about that, I'm a moron. Charles Rogers would have been my pick after Chambers so it worked out good for me. I hope you guys didn't wait too long. Sorry again.
