Album draft signup thread.

Recommended Posts

Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold us Back.

Wish I could stick to the rap theme, but you guys stole my picks, and I think I can get my rap pick next round

Marvin Gaye - Whats going on

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers

Three hella good picks. Any of these could have been round one choices as possibly the best of their particular genres. My faith in geek bored musical taste has been partially restored. :dunno:

I honestly can't believe in a rock heavy draft it took til round three to get to the Stones.

Was gonna wait till round 4 or 5 to go after this, but the mini rap run had me nervous.

NWA - Straight Outta Compton

:dunno:

if I was picking another rap album, it was that one. GREAT pick

Sweet Jesus, that's a lot of whining. I will go back and change my pick to

3.01 - Metallica - Ride the Lightning ;)

 :wall:

That was my next pick! Can't believe it even made it this far.

you had a chance at Ride... lots of people think it's their best one, or at least tied with Puppets....

Why you took slayer over Ride the Lightening is wayyyyy beyond me

:(

maybe a 3 way tie?

if you could only pick 1 music group/person/band/whatever to listen to every day for the rest of your life, would it be Metallica?

Why am I being excluded? I answered yes to your question, I've seen them live 3 times which I think is pretty good considering I'm only 21 and haven't had too many chances to see them. Also have a pretty sweet Metallica tattoo that I'm quite proud of. :wall:

For my next pick, i'll take The Doors, by The Doors

I saw Metallica open for Megadeath on the Kill 'em All tour in a small club called the Kabuki (which no longer exists).

I then saw Ride the Lightning tour 3 shows, San Francisco, San Jose and in Oregon. Then again at Monsters of Rock opening for Scorpions, Yngwe Malmsteen, Ratt and others.

I saw them on Master of Puppets twice and on "And Justice For All" twice.

Finally, I may be the only one in this forum who's actually seen "Spastic Children" which is Metallica drunk out of their minds, playing each other's instruments in a rare club performance opening for Billy Milano and S.O.D. (Speak English or Die). This was with Cliff, of course.

I win? :(

Well, you saw them on the kill tour so you got that on me.... Attempted to see them on the Ride tour, but wasn't old enough to get in...they wouldn't even let me and my buddy in with his Mom. It was WASP, Metallica and Armored Saint (I think).

Meet James and Cliff before and after the show on the Puppets tour w/Ozzy...didn't even stay to see Ozzy, went around back and hung out with them as they did an interview with 2 other guys. Slept out for tickets for that show.

Saw the Justice tour 5 times...each time with Queensryche opening. Monsters of Rock, etc. etc....

Anyway, it is easier remember some of the shows I couldn't see. Metallica with kid rock...got my balls snipped that day.....the Ride show above.....Lollapalooza with my buddies from HS, although I did see them at a different Lollapalooza.....with Guns and Roses....Woodstock

I would guess I've seen them 44 or 45 times although I don't have an official count...def. over 40 though.

Well, since I also saw one of the 10 "Spastic Children" shows they performed, I kind of got you there too.

Also at that show, James and Lars came out before the show to the parking lot as I pulled into the last space. It was at a sh!thole in Oakland called the Omni, which is in a craptastic neighborhood. At the time I drove a 1968 GTO, and hell if I was going to park it on the street. So they come up to the window piss drunk as my buddy & I are hot-boxing the car with a super-green fatty, and they tap on the window.

(says James) "Hey, our friends just drove down here from Oregon - can they have your parking space?" - I was like, "holy crap - you're James Hetfield, right?" - "yep!" he says. "So I guess you can afford to get them another space then." and my buddy & I got out, locked up and went in. I mean, I'm a fan, but fock them when it comes to parking my goat on the street.

True story.

a Metallica tatt is aWesome. I have no tattoos, but if I did, it'd be a Metallica tatt.

And I wanted to put the Doors in my draft somewhere, so nice pick

Thank you, and thank you. :(

Wanted to get it for a long time and finally did about 2 months ago, definitely no regrets, and it turned out much better than I had even expected.

some of you not all need to stop going for the "cool picks" and get real.

Soundtracks are compilations which would disqualify them.

Yeah, like I said it turned out much better than expected. The tattoo artist got a bit creative with it, did it with some graywash so it looks 3D-ish.

3.11 Nirvana - Nevermind.

Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom, Come As You Are, Lithium, Polly, etc.

Not only a great album, but one of the most important albums in music history. It ended the hair metal genre, kicked the grunge/alternative music into the mainstream.

I'm scratching that one off my cheat sheet.... I was pretty sure it wasn't gonna make it back to me, and I'd rather have Dre over Nirvana, so I can't b1tch too much, but FOCK  that's a great pick, definately a steal at the end of round 3

what about ****** ****?

STFU, that's my next pick... edit your post ASAP :ninja:

and I wouldn't consider it a true "soundtrack" seeing they are all his own songs.. not a compilation of differnet groups.

Why do people insist on posting albums that haven't been selected?

Especially people that aren't even involved in the draft. :ninja:

Why the fock are you even in this thread, and how did you even figure out what was going on with this draft? After reading your post several times, I've come to the conclusion that you're quite obviously an illiterate retard. Giants Fan's posts look Shakesperean compared to yours.

Super Cubs = Super Gay =

I edited my origional post. Happy?

No you azzhole because your other post still has it in there as well. :ninja:

BTW, GREAT pick! That's what started it all

why do you feel the need to ruin a draft? If you start posting albums, this draft is ruined.

3/4 of the fun is hoping that you have an album that someone has completely forgotten about / overlooked.

Why the fock would I apologize to you?

It was mentioned MANY times not to focking post names of albums that have not been selected. Yet for some reason you come in here and start to do exactly that, and then give us attitude about it.

4.2 Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

Cherub Rock, Today, Rocket, Disarm, Geek U.S.A., etc

At point, I am simply taking solid albums, albums solid from beginning to end, with no regard to the ADP, or where I think these albums might be drafted, or even drafted at all.

Smashing Pumpkins broke through/peaked with this album. Brilliant guitar work on many songs. Catchy songs. I spent the 90's going to many house parties, where this album was played on a loop all night long.

it's cool, thanks for the delete.

and I think we all define a "soundtrack" as being a compilation of different artists on the same cd. not a cd by a single artist that was made and just so happened to be a movie.
