I'm in a 3 way toss-up.

I have a sneaky feeling, that no matter which album I take right now, some might say I took them too high, but if I don't, not sure they'll last till the 4th and 5th rounds.....

Now which to take?

hint: I'm bucking the "rock" album trend with this pick

I researched Queen alot yesterday, but decided that they didn't have more than 1-2 "hits" on any single album, but I knew that whoever took Queen would take the one with Bohemian Rhapsody!

I was wondering when this was going to get picked. Getting THE album of a major music genre in the third round has to be a steal, IMO. Nice pick.

over 40?

I saw Metallica open for Megadeath on the Kill 'em All tour in a small club called the Kabuki (which no longer exists).

I then saw Ride the Lightning tour 3 shows, San Francisco, San Jose and in Oregon. Then again at Monsters of Rock opening for Scorpions, Yngwe Malmsteen, Ratt and others.

I saw them on Master of Puppets twice and on "And Justice For All" twice.

Finally, I may be the only one in this forum who's actually seen "Spastic Children" which is Metallica drunk out of their minds, playing each other's instruments in a rare club performance opening for Billy Milano and S.O.D. (Speak English or Die). This was with Cliff, of course.

I win? :dunno:

thanks, yeah, it's without a doubt THE rap album of all time.

For an album like that, a 3rd round pick is a steal, but seeing the guys on here (myself included), we are all rock/metal head, so I was afraid I paid too much for this album. Was thinking it might make it down some, but something inside me said "take it before someone else does", especially with the quasi-rap beastie boys already taken.

Strongly disagree - this was the band's consumate breakout album. In addition to Bohemian Rhapsody, the biggest commercial hit was "You're My Best Friend", and both "I'm in Love with My Car" and Death on Two Legs" were two of their hardest rocking songs. God Save the Queen and Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon were also Queen staples.

This album is Queen's best, hands down and should have been a 2nd round pick at the latest, IMO.

You are correct. It would have been my 3rd round pick had you not selected it. It was higher on my cheat sheet than Queen by exactly 1 spot.

I find it interesting in a draft where rankinds are so subjective that some of our cheat sheets have been eerily similar, regardless of genre.

maybe a 3 way tie?

if you could only pick 1 music group/person/band/whatever to listen to every day for the rest of your life, would it be Metallica?

why oh why can't they come to Denver more than once every 5-10 years

You're right, the biggest thing working against your pick is the tastes of the voters will probably lean away from rap music, but I still love the pick. I would have grabbed it in the second round if I had been in this thing actually.

that kinda adds a sense of inrigue on my part. Knowing that others will have the same though process as me as to which music albums to take and where. kinda crazy. It's not like in football where you go RB/RB/WR or QB... it's a total crap shoot as to what someone might take. This is gonna get fun if we keep up the pace of the picks.

yeah, I know, that's why I was thinking a 3rd rounder might be too high (turns out I was wise in picking it when I did), but I also wanted a diversified list.
