SUXBNME 1,651 Posted March 20, 2007 I have no idea what you're talking about. Why would you misquote me like that? I liked the pick...couldn't risk one of you fockers grabbing it at the turn. god damn you. That was my other choice - no kidding. I had it typed in and thought, "nah, it'll make it back to me" I just got 4 live soundboards from SRV that are the best I've ever heard in both quality of sound and quality of performance. If I ever do make it to Sacto I'll burn 'em for ya. Believe it or not, I actually had you pegged for it
phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2007 Out of the albums selected so far, I own 4 or 5 of them, out of 600+ albums. And my collection kicks ass. I feel very good about the myriad of albums remaining on my list.

phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2007 seriously. this list would be great if it was an 80s best of deal. but otherwise, To be fair, this is the music that most of the drafters grew up with. People draft familiarity. How many times do we see people in our fantasy leagues take the same players in drafts over and over again? Nothing wrong with the known element, I guess. I have meetings from 10-1 today without a break, so hopefully I can pick before 10? :crossesfingers:

Big Blue 06 196 Posted March 20, 2007 We can choose live albums? I think so. It's not a "best of" album, so I don't see why not. IMO, this is, by far, their best work.

phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2007 The problem with live albums is that some of them combine the band's biggest hits from several albums. So it's similar to a best of album.
Big_Pete 0 Posted March 20, 2007 The problem with live albums is that some of them combine the band's biggest hits from several albums. So it's similar to a best of album. that's what I'm thinking... and I was really curious about this when I was thinking of albums to choose... so do live albums count? yea or nay? I'm not driving this Zamboni, but a couple live albums have already been picked. How about we agree that each draftee, can select up to 1 live album, but no more? Big_Pete 0 Posted March 20, 2007 I'm not driving this Zamboni, but a couple live albums have already been picked. How about we agree that each draftee, can select up to 1 live album, but no more? agreed.. 1 live album, but absolutly no more. just cause 99.99% of the live albums out there are pretty much compilation albums. Big Blue 06 196 Posted March 20, 2007 I'm good for whatever. If the group says no live albums, I can go a different way with that pick. Let me know.
kutulu 1,728 Posted March 20, 2007 agreed.. 1 live album, but absolutly no more. just cause 99.99% of the live albums out there are pretty much compilation albums. True, but they are live and give off a whole different vibe than your standard "best of" album.
Big_Pete 0 Posted March 20, 2007 True, but they are live and give off a whole different vibe than your standard "best of" album. true, but also, now I gotta scratch a certain couple of groups off my sleeper list cause their live album has already been selected, so why bother with their studio album which doesn't have 15 hits on it. No biggie I guess... I'll have to take a minute to revise my list and see who I'll draft now. Sorry for the delay.
football_scooter 0 Posted March 20, 2007 NO LIVE ALBUMS. IT IS AGAINST THE RULES TO HAVE A "BEST OF" AND LIVE ALBUMS ARE EXACTLY THAT. The last couple of picks are void. No focking way. I would have taken Exit Stage Left at 1.04 - but it has songs from 4 albums on it and focks over anyone who might have wanted one. This draft is on hold until the live sh!t is gone - Nirvana & RUSH are both invalid picks. They are not by definition "albums" - they are compilations. Big_Pete 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Then I guess I'll take the single best selling live alubum ever produced, not only with popularity, but with record sales. It is actually the best selling country album of all time as well, so not only is it the biggest selling live album, but the biggest selling album of an entire genra........ Garth Brooks - DOUBLE LIVE "Callin' Baton Rouge" "Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House" "Shameless" "Papa Loved Mama" "The Thunder Rolls (The Long Version with the extra verse)" "We Shall Be Free" "Unanswered Prayers" "Standing Outside The Fire" "Longneck Bottle" "It's Your Song" "Much Too Young (to Feel This Damn Old)" "The River" "Tearin' it Up (and Burnin' it Down)" "Ain't Goin' Down ('Til The Sun Comes Up)" "Rodeo" "The Beaches of Cheyenne" "Two Piña Coladas" "Wild as the Wind" (with Trisha Yearwood) "To Make You Feel My Love" "That Summer" "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association" "If Tomorrow Never Comes" "The Fever" (w/Aerosmith) – 3:40 "Friends in Low Places (The Long Version with the extra verse)" "The Dance" ......umm....... nevermind. lol. I picked this album cause well, cause I think that live albums are cheating, so I picked this one to prove that point. Thanks Scooter, this won't be my pick, but now I'll have to wait for sux and BB06 to re-pick

Big_Pete 0 Posted March 20, 2007 Sweet Jesus, that's a lot of whining. I will go back and change my pick to 3.01 - Metallica - Ride the Lightning nice pick... quality pick. I was wondering how in the fock it got past kutulu, and then I was hoping that it got forgotten, and different genra's would start getting taken, and I'd be able to come back and snatch it up in the 6th or so, before others remembered that it didn't get taken. the 5 banana dance huh? wow... I"m glad I'm here to witness this moment in history
