gocolts 300 Posted April 6, 2007 Poor old rockfish. No shiat. They should have let it live. Throw it back. Something that old sholud have been let back to live. One time, a former friend of mine, found a HUGE snapper turtle out in the woods. He put 20 20 gauge shells in it. He said it took that many to kill it. He bragged about it, and then I told another friend of mine what happened( I was not with him or he would not have done it. I would have stopped him). Lets just say that former friend that shot it got it almost as bad as the turtle.
edjr 6,580 Posted April 6, 2007 They should have let it live. A commercial fishing boat hauled in what may have been one of the oldest creatures in Alaska -- a giant rockfish estimated to be about a century old. it could have been dead before they recognized it

peenie 1,915 Posted April 6, 2007 i think it's really sad that we just don't value life enough to let creatures continue living their lives in peace. it's not like anyone could eat the thing. very sad indeed. i think the world has seen rockfish before and it's not like this guy caught it with his fishing rod. big deal, he scraped it from the ocean floor with his boat. he should've taken a picture of it and then put it back in it's ocean home.
