Tarheel Boy 0 Posted April 16, 2007 While Tim Duncan is without question one of the biggest whining crybabies in the NBA, the technicals he got yesterday were pretty pitiful. Joey Crawford loves the spotlight and found the perfect opportunity to bask in the glory again yesterday.

Another reason why FB>BB Yep, here's the link... http://youtube.com/watch?v=JGeNWwBN5bQ Being a huge Mavs fan I did love seeing him get the boot, but it was bush league by Crawford. It will be interesting to see what happens in the playoffs when Duncan whines (and he will whine numerous times) and Crawford is officiating the game. I take it this wasn't the first time that Crawford thought the fans paid to see HIM and not the players? Nope, this isn't the first time. He T'd up Duncan a few weeks ago. A couple of years ago he kicked Don Nelson out of the game because Nellie was staring at home. Now, Duncan is saying (and there's some teeth to this) that Crawford asked him yesterday if he wanted to fight. How pathetic is that? Even though Duncan is a crybaby, I'd love to see him whip Crawford's ass.

Duncan vs crawford odds starting at 2-3 that there's a duncan KO in the first round
BrahmaBulls 763 Posted April 17, 2007 I'll agree those T's were out of the ordinary. But I wish more of them would be called and clean up the attitude in the game. The whiners like Duncan and the mental patients like Coach K use that stuff to intimidate officials and therefore get calls in their favor. I wish more officials would show the player who is in charge.

joneo 556 Posted April 17, 2007 Wow, extremely lame. If I was one of Duncan's teammates, I would "accidently" run Crawford over during a play. HARD

kilroy69 1,248 Posted April 17, 2007 Focker deserved it. Hell yes he did. I was waiting on stern to come down hard on this guy. T'ing up someone for laughing on the bench is stupid beyond words.
wiffleball 4,790 Posted April 17, 2007 Hell yes he did. I was waiting on stern to come down hard on this guy. T'ing up someone for laughing on the bench is stupid beyond words. yeah, this guy sounds like he needs a bit of break at the shady acres rest home. NEW YORK -- NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely by commissioner David Stern on Tuesday for his conduct toward Tim Duncan, who contends the official challenged him to a fight. Crawford, who has worked more playoff games than any active ref, ejected Duncan from a game in Dallas on Sunday. He called a second technical foul on the San Antonio Spurs star while he was on the bench. "He looked at me and said, 'Do you want to fight? Do you want to fight?"' Duncan said. "If he wants to fight, we can fight. I don't have any problem with him, but we can do it if he wants to. I have no reason why in the middle of a game he would yell at me, `Do you want to fight?"' Crawford's suspension will last at least through the NBA Finals. He apparently will have to meet with Stern after that to discuss reinstatement.
edjr 6,580 Posted April 17, 2007 Let's imagine for a moment. if the player were Ron Artest and not Tim Duncan. We aren't even talking about this and the Ref isn't suspended. What if Duncan is to blame? I can guarantee you if the referee were black and the player were white the referee is not suspended.
Tarheel Boy 0 Posted April 17, 2007 yeah, this guy sounds like he needs a bit of break at the shady acres rest home. Yep, Crawford got the suspension he deserved. Guess we'll see how Duncan is treated in the playoffs. I'm sure we'll still see plenty of whining.

What if Duncan is to blame? I can guarantee you if the referee were black and the player were white the referee is not suspended. Ron Artest would have punched him in the face, so the situation would have been a little different. Also, the odds of a black ref T'ing up a white player are statistically insignificant. HTH Yep, Crawford got the suspension he deserved. Guess we'll see how Duncan is treated in the playoffs. I'm sure we'll still see plenty of whining. This focking sucks for the Suns. He is going to get the benefit of every call.

What if Duncan is to blame? I am calling bullsh!t. T'ing up a player who argues a call with you is well within what can be expected of a ref. T'ing a player up for laughing on the bench is making you look like an old grumpy man that may be getting soft in the head. No matter who the player is that should not be allowed. Of course when he's called for a foul you will see him with a look of shock on his face.

Amare has historically pwn3d the Spurs/Duncan, I hope he views this as a challenge and rises to the occasion.

If the Mavs, Suns, Spurs, and Rockets win their first round series, the Western Conference semi-finals are going to be two awesome series. That would be 4 of the top 5 teams in the league playing. nobody 2,671 Posted April 18, 2007 You should have seen the night before. Cassell got kicked out of a game by Bennett Salvatore. He calls a tech on Cassell while Portland is shooting a free throw from all the way on the other side of the court. Then they line up again to shoot the free throw and he T's him up again from the other side of the court. Sh¡t's getting out of hand.

Is it also possible that the refs, after seeing what happened to their colleague, might make life a little tougher for Duncan in the playoffs?

Well, I don't think anyone is close to Crawford, but Salvatore is about as close as a ref can get. Is it also possible that the refs, after seeing what happened to their colleague, might make life a little tougher for Duncan in the playoffs? I don't think so in this instance since Crawford pretty much put himself in the position to be suspended because of his idiotic comments. I don't see too many of them having much sympathy for him.
