I know the guy steals jokes and what not but his show last night made some good points.

not sure of the exact words but he was basically saying whitey really can't say anything anymore.

for instance if a black dude has a bumber sticker that says black and proud, no one would say a word. but if a white guy had a bumber sticker that said white and proud the guy would automatically be racist.

black power is ok.

white power.....not.

 

I think in the next few years whitey will get sick of it and it wouln't be taboo to be white and proud.

He said he will have one in my hands in the next couple days. I offered to pay, he said no charge, he just want to see pics of it on someones car.

Its going to be black background and white lettering.

I loved that sketch, although it isn't completely true. You can see white comics playing black clubs on BET telling race jokes and they're killin'. Whites can tell black jokes in public but you damn well better be funny. In my political day job I spend a lot of time at black political events or working with overtly black groups (ditto with women's issues and groups) and can say pretty much anything I want, because I've already earned the respect for showing up. In fact, that's all you have to do to get that respect, just show up. The only time I get grief for this is from uptight white guys, and I don't have to say anything because the non-white-guys in the group will defend me better than I could defend myself.

 

Another reason it doesn't really work is because white people just don't identify by race the same way others do. We're already happy enough being white that we don't feel any need for "white power."

 

Having said that, hell yeah I'm white and I'm proud. If everybody was proud of who they are, this world would be a much more peaceful and happy place.

 

I also loved the Mario Lopez response to people who think he might be gay. For pretty much the exact same reason.
