GOP debate this morning: Romney on Barack Hussein Obama

Recommended Posts

Romney, too, was eager to criticize Democrats. His chosen target was Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, who said recently he would be willing to meet with the leaders of Cuba, North Korea and Iran in his first year in office, and declared in a speech he would order military action to capture terrorists in Pakistan if that nation's president did not.

"I mean, in one week he went from saying he's going to sit down, you know, for tea, with our enemies, but then he's going to bomb our allies," said Romney. "I mean, he's gone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in one week."

ETA: I will apologize in advance to Sho Nuff for not posting the entire transcript of this debate. This quote is obviously slanted and taken out of context.

Im failing to find what would be a problem with meeting with world leaders (even those we might disagree with).

In addition, whats the problem with going after terrorists in Pakistan?

Who said there is a "problem" with doing either of those things? I have said no such thing, and Romney was just reiterating the two stances Obama took.

Making stuff up again, huh?

I leave the making stuff up to you...as you did again in this case.

Nowhere do I claim you did say there was a problem...however...

and considering it was supposed to be a "debate" and Romney was criticizing (as per the article)...that would mean the author and Romney thought there was a problem there.

Now, the fact that you posted this in the manner in which you did...leads any reasonable person to believe that you also have a problem with Obama on this. (especially given your history on this board and how far to the right you lean)

I also think it is a good thing to meet with other leaders and try to keep the peace. I agree with Obama on this one.

Aaaah. So you are just making more assumptions about what Romney and the author "thought".

Why would I have a problem with Obama flailing around miserably when it comes to foriegn policy? I find it quite amusing, as I did Romney's quote. I guess that leaves you out of the "reasonable" person column.

No assumption needed...they say right in the article that Romney was criticizing him. Or can you not read very well.

You find it amusing that a candidate would want to meet with foreign leaders?

Your last line is laughable though...coming from you its kind of a compliment.

What you think is reasonable, vs. what most people think is reasonable are two totally different things.

You assumed I had a "problem" with what Obama said (an assumption on your part) I have no problem with Obama saying any of that.

Nowhere in article does it state Romney has a "problem" with what Obama said. Why should he, it gives him something to debate Obama on that Romney feels he has a better position.

I find Obama's entire campaign amusing.

I assumed you had a problem with it because of your history of crap on this board...and taking time to post this.

He "criticized" Obama and they listed those things as a part of that. Do you often criticize people for doing something you have no problem with?

You are the right wing version of torrid...though he was much smarter than you and would actually bring facts to the table from time to time.

Didn't Romney and his magic underwear say we should look to Hezbollah as a role model? Romney is a nut job.

RP won't respond to this. He claims Romney doesn't have a problem with obama, yet you said it perfectly with that sentence.

Chasing you today? Nah...just going through the easy schedule yesterday of pointing out your stupidity which you tried to play off as a fishing trip.

I know he won't...the same way he generally ignores when he is proven completely wrong and not even he can spin his way out of it.

The best part of that debate was when one of the candidates, I don't remember who it was, said that the biggest mistake he's ever made in life was not realizing sooner than Jesus Christ was his personal savior.

:overhead: Republicans :overhead:

I have never thought our foreign policy should mirror that of a 16 y.o. girl. "I don't like you and I NEVER going to talk to you again!"

I mean, grow the fock up. There's a reason why it's called "diplomacy". Ya gotta do more than hold hands with your friends the terror-supporting Saudis and get your knob slobbed from Tony Blair if you want to earn the paycheck.

Care to show me where I have "criticized" Obama in this thread?

I know you didn't ask me, but.........

Why would I have a problem with Obama flailing around miserably when it comes to foriegn policy?

Stating an obvious fact is not exactly what I call criticism. Obama has already had his staff running around to the media to "clarify" his statements.

I call the following phrase "flailing around miserably" a criticism.

Criticize:

to find fault with : point out the faults of

I really don't care one way or the other, but it is clear that in this thread you criticized Obama for his views on forign policy.

So what? Admit it and move on, it doesn't lessen your original point in any way.

As addressed several times torrid...I never claimed you personally criticized him.

HTH...now...spin this around to something else...again...as you always do.

Have fun getting the last word...you know you will...and you know you are full of chit.

I think I might actually listen to my own logic and quit trying to use reason with someone as unreasonable and foolish as you.

Cue your little buddy Angry White Male to come in and post a smilie supporting you.

I didn't comment on his views one way or the other. I simply pointed out he was all over the board last week. The flailing around miserably is an apt description of what he did last week.

You are kidding right? So the term "flailing around miserably" is not a criticism? It may be an apt description, but it is still a criticism.

So he would try to use diplomacy when possible but would be willing to use military force if necessary? Different approaches to different circumstances?! Wow, that's just wacky! He's all over the place!!!!

Romney looks like a tool with that soundbite.
