On The Record For Bragging Rights Later

Recommended Posts

This isn't the place to go on and on, but list just a couple of your lead pipe locks for this season. That way we'll know who was right, and who's wearing the @ss hat come season's end.

mine:

LJ will be a top 3 back and all who pass on him for Addai, Gore, etc will suffer the shame of it all.

MJD will score more fantasy points this year than Bush. (excluding PPR)

Anyone who uses a first or second round pick on Henry will be very dissapointed when it's all said and done.

Addai and AP will be studs.

M. Colston and H. Ward will end up being a top 10 WR

Anyone who drafts R. Moss thinking sleeper will be very disappointed

Joseph Addai will be the most disappointing of the Top 6 RBs

There I said IT.

Randy Moss will score at least 14 TD's this year. Most will come on passes of less than 10 yards where he just out jumps the db like he did in Minny.

I like these ones alot and echo your thoughts.

I will add that I think that Lamont Jordan will be the steal of the year and that Big Ben will end up with top 10 QB numbers.

Vince Young will finish as the #1 Fantasy Football QB (Just ahead of Drew Brees).

Drew Bennett will finish with double digit touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson will win ROY.

Vernon Davis will finish as the #2 TE, maybe even supplanting AGates at #1.

3 of the NFL's top Defenses will come from the lowly NFC North (and the Lions aint one of 'em).

Daunte Culpepper will fumble at least 10 times.

The NFC has no team with any chance of winning the SB. The AFC has 7, maybe 8.

Reggie Bush will have a monster year.

Most of you won't like this but here it goes:

LT will miss a significant portion of the season due to injury (>6 games).

He has averaged 408 touches (6 year career) since he entered the league...the law of averages are going to catch up with him.

1 - Darrell Jackson goes over 1200 yards and 10 TDs for the 49ers and makes the Pro Bowl

2 - Dallas implodes by the 3/4 mark of the season, and Terrell Owens does not last the season in Dallas (this is Year 2, after all)

3 - Chicago (with a healthy Tommie Harris and Mike Brown) wins the Super Bowl

1. Ronnie Brown will finish this season just outside the top 10, and will make a lot of people upset that they passed on him to take an inferior RB.

2. LaMont Jordan will be a top 10 running back in the NFL. He will have 50+ receptions and 1000+ RuYds with 400+ ReYds and 11 TDs. Steal of the draft. Rhodes will return to action in week #5 and will have a minimal role spelling Jordan. Experts everywhere will be eating crow for saying that Rhodes will come back and take over the starting job.

3. I wasl aready on record for saying Vincent Jackson was my breakout WR candidate several months ago (and took some heat for it) - the Jerry Porter Was A Dumb Pick league can vouch for that call, and now that he had a big preseason game the bandwagond seems to be filling up - so I wanted to go on record as having been on record about VJax already for an 1100+/10 TD season.

4. Larry Johnson will suffer some sort of leg injury this year. Holdout and heavy workload combined will serve to anger the football gods and he will be smitten. The Chiefs will be a 4-12 team (5-11 at best) and fans of the team will be angered that they didn't deal "Diapers" when he was at the peak of his value. Chiefs have "Al Davis" syndrome where they believe themselves to be good enough to compete now, when what they needed to do is to blow up the offense, keep the best pieces and start over with the high picks they could have commanded for LJ. Signing LJ will be a move that saddles this team for years and prevents them from competing.

5. Alexander will have a nice bounce back season and will prove to be one of the more underrated RBs of 2007. Not his best season, but he will amass 1600 total yards and score 16-18 TDs. Well beyond his ADP, and certainly better than the 1.11 spot he was taken in my recent draft (one of the steals of that draft and I was pissed he went that far - both MJD and McGahee went before SAlex. unreal)

6. Lee Evans will be a top 8 WR

7. Reggie Wayne will take over the #1 role in indy, and will finish with better numbers than Marvin Harrison.

that's about all the crow I'm prepared to eat at season's end.

Jones will battle Johnson as the most common name in fantasy lineups

Cedric Benson ends the season as a top 5 back, regardless of scoring system.

Willis McGahee ends the season as a top 7 back, regardless of scoring system.

Oh, last one:

8. Joey Harrington will have his best statistical season as a pro, and will be the "feel good" story of 2007. Atlanta will rally behind him like no fans have done to date because he will make the former 1st round WRs on that team finally live up to their potential. ATL fans will have reason to love Harrinton when he takes them to 7-9 or 8-8 and a fringe playoff team with hope. He will show that he's had a bad rep based on having the weight of a franchise put onto his shoulders in the past, and now in a situation where he has nothing to lose he will shine. A good running game and defense will make ATL one of the surprise teams of 2007. NO will still win the division, but ATL will be pushing them all year. Vick getting jailed/suspended will prove to be the best thing to ever happen to that franchise.
