JT 137 Posted September 9, 2007 NCAA YTD 3-2 After laying an 0-2 egg on opening night, I got back on track with a solid 3-0 Saturday. I don't play near the quantity games that many do, especially early in the season. Just can't process that much info, I suppose. But here are a couple plays that I like this weekend: TCU @ Texas: TCU +9 LOSER ________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________ BYU @ UCLA: BYU +7.5 LOSER ________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________ South Florida @ Auburn : South Florida +7 WINNER ________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________ NC State @ BC: BC -14 WINNER ________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________ I think that's probably it for me, boys. I'd love to take Wake + at home vs Nebraska, but latest info appears that QB Skinner (not to be confused with Principal Skinner) doesn't play for the Deacons. I think Boise could put it to Washington, but can't bring myself to take yet another road team with an unproven QB. I came into the year expecting to make some money on Missouri's offense, but their defense is so bad it's frightening. Good luck to all! GO RUTGERS! 2-2 NCAA YTD 5-4 Nothing like a lot of wasted time. I didn't see any of the TCU-Tx second half, so don't know what went on there. UCLA's speed and Hall's inexperience at QB did in BYU. Auburn simply isn't near as good as their annual pre-season poll birthright would indicate. BC played below their ability and NC State took advantage of a couple of breaks, which was the only thing making that game interesting. No NFL this week for me. Good luck to all! The.Damned 0 Posted September 9, 2007 FYI - beginner small time better - putting appropriate units on bets is something I am learning also. ALso - love the parlay NCAA YTD 5-7 up 2 units (Parlay saved me) NFL today Seattle -5.5 was where I got it for 2 units I don't have long detailed write-ups, line dropped .5 from -6, seattle is a proven team with only real questions marks at WR. Tampa Bay has question marks eveywhere in my eyes. And since I love Parlays and am a huge Texans Fan Seattle -5.5/Texans -3/Pittsburgh -5 for 1 unit. Also put $100 on Texans over 6.5 wins at the beginning gentleman good luck today!!!!!!

UNCDave 0 Posted September 9, 2007 Just posting my picks for the week, hopefully I can get back in the positive with NFL week 1 kicking off. NCAA 3-3-0 (-2.2 U) Cal -14 (1 unit to win .91) (-1) - Really just expecting a blowout here. But betting it safe just in case Cal doesnt play like I predict them to. Boise St -3 (1 unit to win .91) (-1) - Hate going against philly, but I just have a gut feeling on this one, still tough picking against philly. Oregon +7 (1 unit to win .91) (+.91) - I expect Mich to win but I think Oregon will keep it close. Bama -3.5 (1 unit to win .87) (+.87) - I think Bama wins this by much more than a FG so the 3.5 should be safe. UNC +170 (ML) (1 unit to win 1.7) (-1) - Think this game will be pretty close, and UNC has a real chance of winning, so I'll take the odds and risk a unit on them. Baylor -7.5 (1 unit to win .91) (+.91) - Going with philly on this one, so far going against him has been bad, bad , bad for me. NCAA Today 3-3-0 (-.31) So what did we learn this week: Not to bet against philly even if he has a bad week, just not smart. Carolina pissed me off, they should have pulled that game off, and Cal sucks also, where is their defense? Oh yeah they were on the bench cuz Cal knew they won. These 3-3 weeks are killing me, luckily no big bets this weekend so no big loss and maybe NFL can make up for it today. NCAA 6-6-0 (-2.51 U)
needmoremoney 0 Posted September 10, 2007 NCAAF YTD: 19-12-0 +10.55 unitsNFL YTD: 0-1-0 -1.05 units WEST VIRGINIA @ MARSHALL o/u 62.5 over 1 unit WINNER I was tempted to take Marshall for the first morning game, but realized that their star RB Bradshaw has moved on. I was still somewhat tempted with their above avg. o-line, and their sophomore sure-handed TE, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I have confidence that their senior QB Morris can move them down field a few times for some scores and rush for a few first downs, but I just don't see much consistency, especially against better programs. They suffer from blocked punts, missed FG's, interceptions and not sure how their diminished running game will keep up with WV's offense. I will make a play on the over as I see WV moving down the field with ease, getting good field positions on special teams and perhaps getting some favorable TO's as well. Tired defense will lead to more scores for WV, with Marshall also putting up a few scores of their own with most of the same key players from last year. Over has covered at a high clip for both teams for those who care about stats. Hell.. i think I just talked myself into taking WV as well.. why not. WEST VIRGINIA @ MARSHALL -24 1 unit WINNER see above DUKE @ VIRGINIA u41 1 unit WINNER Neither have a running game to write home about. Virginia has edge in QB, but does not have the arm nor accuracy to carry the team every possession down the field. I just hope the interceptions that will occur wont lead to quick scores. Under is 8-0-1 in Virginia's last 9 games as a favorite and under is 10-2 in Virginia's last 12 home games. RICE @ BAYLOR -7 2 units WINNER Baylor may have been outclassed by TCU 27-0, but they were still able to convert 3rd downs at 30% (6-20) vs TCU's 20% (3-15) conversion rate, and got 15 first downs to TCU's 17. Falling behind, their QBs combined for 4 ints and could not muster much of a run game. Baylor QB Blake may turnover the ball multiple times as he threw 4 TDs and 7 Ints last year, but against Okla, Okla St., Tex Tech, etc. Against Rice, i have much more confidence. This week, Rice will face a Baylor team looking for redemption and hoping for a bowl chance (probably not given their tough schedule again). This will be one of their easist matches with Rice, who were beat by Nicholls State (yea..who?) last week. They were outgained 218 to 281 and split time of possession pretty evenly. Rice's QB, Chase Clement, had a breakout year last year with a 21-5 TD/Int ratio but most of his TDs came in bunches against other TX lower tier schools. Their defense obviously is not a strength, nor their offense on any level.. Bottom line... Rice is one of my favorite teams to bet against. CALIFORNIA @ COLORADO ST -13.5 2 units LOSER Taking my Bears.... looking for a better performance from Longshore this week and for Jackson and Forsett to really wreak some havoc against a letdown last week for Col. St. BUFFALO @ TEMPLE -3.5 2 units LOSER NOTRE DAME @ PENN STATE -18 2 units WINNER BYU @ UCLA -7 1 unit WINNER TOLEDO @ C MICHIGAN -3 2 units WINNER BOISE ST @ WASHINGTON +3 2 units WINNER NEBRASKA @ WAKE FOREST +8.5 1 unit WINNER OREGON +6.5 @ MICHIGAN 1 unit WINNER NEVADA @ NORTHWESTER u52 2 units LOSER Another successful weekend. 10-3 this week for +7.70 units .. stayed away from NFL this week since NCAAF seems like my forte for now.. hopefully, my picks are helping some people. NCAAF YTD: 29-15-0 +18.25 units NFL YTD: 0-1-0 -1.05 units
