Who are these Houstor Texors

Recommended Posts

I did my damndest not to blame Carr when he was here. I still think he got a pretty chitty set-up (but he got paid well) from the coaching staff. I hold them and the GM responsible for the disaster that was the first few years.

However, there is a major difference with Schaub. The team actually acts like they give a chit. They actually put out a professional product. And really, the only variable is Schaub vs. Carr. I hope Carr gets a 2nd chance. Hell, Testicleverde was a disaster in TB, but eventually ended up being okay elsewhere. I think sometimes you're in a situation that's just SO bad (and Carr was) that there's really no way out except to just leave and let all parties start over.

Ladies and Gentlegerms, YOUR ATLANTA FALCONS FRONT OFFICE!!

+ 1992: Traded Brett Favre for a draft pick that became the RB sensation known as Tony Smith!!! (who?)

+ 2001: Traded #1 Draft picks with the Chargers for Mike Vick. The Chargers use that pick to select NFL MVP Ladamian Tomlinson.

+ 2007: After carrying him on their roster for 3 years & paying him millions to do virtually nothing, Traded Matt Schaub to the Texans. FOUR WEEKS LATER, the first search warrant for Mike Vick's home was served. :pointstosky:

edited for revised warrant served date.

Amobi Okoye registered 2 sacks this weekend, in his 2nd game ever, and dude is only 20

That focker has done more for Mario Williams than he gets credit for. Between him, Ryans and Williams, there's just too many quality players to double. Mario didn't make much noise last year because he could very easily get all the attention (which freed up Ryans). By bringing in quality, you free up other quality. It's working out pretty well so far. :pointstosky:

Yep, and the line is making the banged up secondary's job even easier by putting pressure on.

Yesterday's commentators and a couple othe national sports personalities were talking about how Mario/Okoye are going to give O lines fits, not knowing where to place the double teams.

How does that crow taste media types? Looks like they might of known what they were doing the last couple of drafts after all.

Good stuff. God Bless Kubiak and Rick Smith :pointstosky:

Don't forget, when the took LT and passed on Vick, they got Brees in the 2nd as a result.

Brees >>>> Vick

Brees + LT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vick

Atlanta = Sad Banana.

and fock you, Reggie Bush.

I think we are 3 or 4 players away from making some serious noise. We need: a corner (Faggins is not good), a free safety, a legit #2 WR (Hopefully, Jacoby), and a big play running back (Green is serviceable but has no big play ability). It would be nice to have: more DL depth, a decent #3 WR for slot, a nickle corner.

1994: Traded 3 picks to obtain Jeff George. Picks turned out to be Trev Alberts ( ), Jason Matthews ( ), and MARVIN HARRISON ( ).

I think investments in defense are wise, and the Texans have certainly taken pains in that area; but easily their most important move was the acquisition of Schaub (so far).

I think of how bad the Pat's would suck without Brady, the Colts without Manning....Schaub might be that piece what gives the team the prowess it needed.

I agree to a very big extent. I think Jacoby will become a fine #2. CB is a real weakness, faggins would work as a nickel, but its a stretch to keep him as a starter. I had worried we would have been better served taking D.Revis with our pick and locking up the CB spot, but Amobi really showed me something breaking down double teams this week. Between him and Mario we are setting up a FIERCE line for a long time. We have never really had a FS, always plugging in a SS type there, I have a lot of hope for Demps, and was very excited to see him, for what we had to give to get him he is huge value. I think Green is a qualiity back right now, but we will be positioned to make our run over the next few years, and this or next will likely be his last as a good option at the spot. I would still like to see better talent on our Oline. Salaam has proved to be quite the find at LT, but for how long. Pitts is a quality starter and Winston is coming along fine, but McKinney is too old and Weary would be better as a backup imo. I hope to get Spencer back, but can't count on him. I think he would be better as a RT or guard honestly, over LT.

This next draft class is LOADED with RB talent, we might go there, and a handful of quality LT prospects as well. I would like to see us take a OT, RB, CB, in that order, with our first next year. And if this keeps up, it will be a late round first which is fine by me. :first:

In one of my dynasty leagues mario got me 22 points last week, but only 1 this past week. Not sure what Bush has accumulated, but i don't think it was more than that... :nono:
