How sexy will Andruw Jones look in a Royals uni next year?

Recommended Posts

it makes sense, we need a power-hitting, right-handed left-fielder, and we'll have about $20m in salary freed up between the likes of Mike Sweeney and Reggie Sanders. Plus, if anybody knows anything about Jones, it'd be Dayton moore.

LF DeJesus

2B Grudzielanek

RF Teahen

CF Jones

DH/1B Butler

3B Gordon

SS Pena

C Buck

then we just need to figure out if Butler's going to be DH, and then who's going to play 1st, or if Butler will play 1st and who will be our primary DH.

And with Meche, Bannister and Greinke likely to lead the rotation, if a couple guys stepup (Hochevar, Lummsden, Buckner, Soria, Davies, DeLaRosa), we could have a top-notch rotation. Greinke has the stuff to be a top-end guy, if he can keep it together.

And our bullpen was solid last year, but some voids will need to be filled with greinke moving back to the rotation and Dotel gone. Soria can probably be the closer, but he was a starter in the Mexican league where he pitched a perfect game once, so they could also look to move him into the rotation and go after a guy like Francisco Cordero.

Won't be long before we're printing playoff tix in KC :headbanger:

So, you want to take the best CF of his generation and move him to LF in favor of David DeJesus?

well DeJesus played LF when Beltran was playing center, so I guess you are right put Andruw in center and move DeJesus back to LF :pointstosky:

Andruw will be where the money is. KC is not that place.

How much do you think he's going to sign for? Sweeney was under contract for I believe $14m, and Sanders was another $4m. You think he's going to sign for more than $18m per?

Royals surprised everybody last year when they threw $55 at Meche, I see no reason to believe they won't be players with Andruw Jones as well. Hell, the Royals are 1 of 3 teams rumored to be interested in freakin Barry Bonds.

which probably isn't out of the equation for the Royals

Of course, do they want to give that much money to a 31-yr old who's talent seems to be declining and had probably his worst season last year

Wow. Like the Royals are going to spend any where near that amount on someone...(esp. someone who hit .222 this year...)
