Sam Adams' OctoberFest

Recommended Posts

First time trying it, bought a 6pack today and just finished one off. I usually just have 1 drink per day.

I'm definitely going back to buy a couple more packs. Unlike the barf that is Miller Chilled, THIS IS A

GRETA BEER! It's kinda copper/bronze colored with a big frothy head. The taste is sorta like a sweet

malty-caramel flavour with a very slight bite to it. Goes down very easy. Me likey! Try it sometime.

It is quite good, however, I recently picked up something even better, IMO: Warsteiner Oktoberfest.

It was fantastic. I liked it more then Sam's....Sam's always has an aftertaste that is annoying to me, personally - Warsteiner was much smoother...

I hella wanted to try some of the summer ale but couldn't find it anywhere.

I'll probably give this one a try though.

Yes, Warsteiner is one of the best quality biers you can buy. I had 6 of the Oktoberfest at...Oktoberfest. Swell.

I especially like the Warsteiner dunkel. I happen to be a dunkelweiss fan in general.

There seems to be some batch variations with Sam's this year. The first 12 pack I bought was a little off, almost slightly flat in taste compared to last year. Then the next case I bought was phenomenal. Warstiner's is VERY good, but Sam's is the best. IMO

Now that I think about it you're right. I bought a 6 pack on labor day and it was okay. Just picked a 6er up on friday and it looked darker and tasted rich.

Am halfway through a Beck's Oktoberfest and it's meh. I stopped by a buddy's house earlier after shopping

and getting some more SAO. So we swapped a bottle of each. It's ok but definitely not too greta. A similar

copper color but with a slight red tint to it, this beer definitely has more bite to it and none of the sweet caramel

flavour.

 SAO :first:

We had a happy hour at my place a few weeks back, and I bought about 6 Oktoberfest's.

Warsteiner was definitely the crowd favorite.

Becks was good, but not as good as last year.

Sam Adams was also very good

Flying Fish Octoberfish was excellent

Flying Dog was meh.

Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest was a top 3.

Spaten was good.

Saranac was meh.
