TheNewGirl 1,490 Posted October 9, 2007 i guess you're not going to tell us? I indicated that I wasn't going to in my first post. I got/get enough ribbing for simply saying I completed one. I am not opening myself up to more...esp. to people who have claimed that they are azzholes just for the sake of being an azzhole.

I am not opening myself up to more...esp. to people who have claimed that they are azzholes just for the sake of being an azzhole. but you said you did better than you thought you would...AND you said that you could keep up with my 7 1/2 minute a mile pace just last week. doesn't that mean you did better than that? I set a goal. I completed said goal better than I thought I would. IMO, that's enough said. Again, regardless of my time, people who are azzholes just to be azzholes will (and have) given me a lot of sh!t over this running thing. This is far too big an accomplishment for me to open myself up to more insults. Sorry, but I won't be disclosing my time on here. Thanks for being so concerned and interested in it, though. Happy running!!!

Big_Pete 0 Posted October 9, 2007 I set a goal. I completed said goal better than I thought I would. IMO, that's enough said. Happy running!!! Congrats TNG. These last few years, I've only really ran on the elliptical downstairs. I haven't done much running running after a few years removed from the military. You could beat me in a 5k I'm sure, but that's not the point. The point is that you set a goal, and you achieved it. Don't let any of these asshats take that sense of achievement and accomplishment away from you. Good luck on your 10k

SUXBNME 1,499 Posted October 9, 2007 Also, I walked a 5k on Saturday morning. It was a walk for Autism. I finished in just under an hour and 10 minutes. A very good cause. One of my biotches and one of my neighbors are both teachers for autistic kids. (they work together) My biotch, when she talks about her work, gets misty eyed on a regular basis telling me about the progress that some of the kids are making. It is pretty damn amazing to listen to. Also, TNG, don't let the haters get you down. Good job on your 5K, and remember that I was the first one to say "Good luck..I hope you don't trip on your titties"

Happy running!!! I am sure Rusty would agree with this: TIME DOESN'T MATTER!!!!!! At least not for your first few results. If running is something you want to continue then your best bet is to get some events under your belt as a benchmark. Then you have some times to shoot for later to show progress and improvement. What you will find is that with proper training your lungs and legs will be able to do more and more. So don't feel like you need to explain to the haters why your not posting a time. Just be proud you finished what you started, you knocked out a goal, and you are moving on to the next one. Everyone else can sh!t in a hat and wear it. (stole that line from philly)
Snoopy1 0 Posted October 9, 2007 Without disclosing my bib number or time, just wanted to say that I finished it and did a LOT better than I thought I would. Congrats ---I've given you crap, but good job, you set a goal and went out and did it.

TheNewGirl 1,490 Posted October 9, 2007 apparently, it did for TNG in my thread. Actually, no it didn't. It's obvious that the point I was trying to make in your thread went over your head. Let me say it for the third time. YOU claimed in your thread that you were an azzhole "just for the sake of being an azzhole." WHY!@#@! should I post ANYTHING that you ask me to? Regardless of my time, how good/bad it was, it doesn't matter to YOU. You will make whatever kind of comment you can to try and bring me down because, again, you're an azzhole just for the sake of being one. Please, thanks again for your concern over my time. This was my first race. I was very nervous, and I cried at the end because I was so proud of myself for 1) completing it and 2) doing better than I thought I would. This just confirms within myself that *I* need to start small and work towards more. I need that goal to envision in my mind and go for it and do it. I am sorry that your'e too hung up on my time to realize that accomplishing the goal itself is good enough.
sawilson 1 Posted October 9, 2007 Congrats TNG, that's awesome! You have got to be so proud of yourself. I really need to get my arse out there and get some more cardio in each day too! TheNewGirl 1,490 Posted October 9, 2007 c'mon, i may be an ass but it's pretty lame that you can't admit that you brought this on yourself. I didn't bring ANY of this on myself. I posted in the OP that I wouldn't be disclosing my bib number nor my time on here, becuase to the people that *I* care about on here, don't care about the time. After all of the sh!t that people have given me about my monthly mileage thread, you think I would post the particulars? You are an ass for actually thinking that I would open myself up to that! Like I said, I didn't disclose ANYTHING and received sh!t in this thread. Gimme a break. There are several accomplished runners on here, and whenever they post that they finished a marathon, people don't give them sh!t. People MAKE UP SH!T to give me a bad time, LOL. So, I am going to post particulars about my race to give them more ammo. You are too funny. I don't see why you are getting so worked up over a 5K. A 5K. A more expirienced and non-novice runner would simply say, "Good job!" or something similar and not keep droning on and on about time. An experienced runner would recognize that running non-stop for 3.1 miles isn't easy when you're starting, and if they think back to when they first started running, they might remember that completing the 5K at a better time they thought they would was a wonderful thing. Anyways, think what you want about the time that I finished the race in. Saw, the Turkey Day race is in the AM. I totally wouldn't make it after eating dinner. LOL. (Insert fat joke here). So, surfer, if I might ask...why do you continually chose to make fun of my running goals/likes, when it seems that your time is pretty much what I would run an 8K in as well? Would you believe now that I am NOT fat? Surely you didn't see any CBF's running right next to you thru the finish line, right? Dood, I never said that I would have a "better" time, but what makes you think that I couldn't have the SAME time? you were claiming that you'd be finishing the race right next to me. just seeing if you were right. seriously, you tried to belittle my first 8k and since i ask your time on your "first 5k"...i'm the d!ck here?
