wiffleball 4,797 Posted November 8, 2007 I imagine you've seen the story. These toy beads, when ingested turn into roofies or some such nonsense. - So they're recalling them. However: Regardless of the poisoning aspect - Before they even made this toy, Or at least before Parents BOUGHT the damn things, didn't anybody stop to think "Hey, these things are small enough for kids to swallow! Maybe we shouldn't give these to little kids!"
RLLD 4,275 Posted November 8, 2007 Valid. Aside from being a complete waste of money since your kid will likely play with it for an hour before never looking at it again.....I can see the things ending up everywhere, some kid choking on them, and just plain getting on my flipping nerves..... That's why I boughy my kids BB guns

You have to just hope by then your kids are smart enough not to go around swallowing ######. And lots of toys have parts of swallowing size. We probably have ten different games with marbles in our house.
Mephisto 15 Posted November 9, 2007 Was I the only one who rushed out to the store to buy up all of their stock?
Me_2006 14 Posted November 9, 2007 I actually think they should make all toys like this. It'd teach kids not to put stupid crap like that in their mouths. I never did it. My nephews don't do it. The only things you should put in your mouth are things that are MADE TO GO IN YOUR MOUTH. Food, teething ring, bottle, etc.
Let Da Big Dog Eat 42 Posted November 9, 2007 Was I the only one who rushed out to the store to buy up all of their stock? You won't find one in a store within a 20 mile radius of my place. Searching the interwebs for Viagra currently.

My nephews don't do it. The only things you should put in your mouth are things that are MADE TO GO IN YOUR MOUTH. Food, teething ring, bottle, etc. I am sorry, but ALL babies put things into their mouths. It's a learning process, mouthing is their way to learn about new textures, tastes, feelings, etc. In infancy (and I know I will be mocked for this) it's called the "oral stage." It usually ends close to one year, although after that you will still find kids mouthing things. So, I believe that you and your nephews did it, you just don't remember. I actually saw these in a craft store the other day, almost bought some. The next morning, I heard about the recall. I thought it was kinda funny, actually. I do agree that if you have small kids in the house (mainly infants and toddlers) don't buy this crap.

I'm saying I never did it when I was around the age of most of the kids reporting the illnesses and neither did either of my nephews who are 8 and 3 now. I know babies do, but you don't give an infant Aqua Dots. That's the ridiculous part of this. Any child old enough to have it is far too old to still be putting things in their mouth, hence my earlier post.
Vikings4ever 569 Posted November 10, 2007 They took the foam off the market because they found out it was poisonous, but if you ask me, if you're dumb enough to eat it, you deserve to die.
