I'm willing to bet you can go through the entire season of these threads and not find a single instance where I griped about officiating. It's part of the game. But I'm still trying to figure out how there wasn't pass interference called on Texas on the INT. DB ran right through the WR.

I'm pretty sure I'm with you on BC. If my memory serves me correctly, I thought BC was very strong versus the run. MSU won't be able to win the game in the air. Make it 35-17 BC.

I don't know what the Michigan St. situation is, but BC is a lot healthier than they were for their last several games, particularly at LB. Jo-Lonn Dunbar has recovered from his ankle injury and they were just not the same team without him in there. I expect BC will win by 10.

I have MSU straight up for all my bowl pools. No money, but I still think they've got a decent shot to win. BC has a tendency to show up for bowls for which they shouldn't be motivated, but that was under O'Brien. Not sure if the trend will continue, and if it doesn't, I don't think they'll win. MSU doesn't have a bad team. GO SPARTANS! Also like TCU.

The Spartans havent lost a game this whole season by more than 7 points and they finished the season strong against good calibur teams with wins, while BC lost their last game to VT. BC has a great run D and Ryan is a pretty good QB but he has a tendancy to throw just plain stupid picks. Spartys offense can keep up with just about anyone because of a good balanced attack, I love the word balance in offense when your getting points, it almost always means TOP advantage.

 

The win against Penn State is the cherry on the topping for me. From the games ive seen this year, Penn State has a faster D than BC and Sparty hung a 35 spot and over 400 yards on em, ill buy security and feel good in what has been an all season long trend.

I think BC's run D will shut down MSU power game and make them one dimensional.

Add in the suspensions for MSU and I think you have to play BC.

The game vs OSU which also had a very good rushing defense was not as close as the final score. MSu was dominated and got all of their points off of turnovers if they can repeat that then ok. But MSU could NOT move the ball on the ground vs OSU, I don't see them doing that vs BC

Bowl Season: ATS 2-5 SU 5-2

 

Guys, I'm so cold it's almost beyond comprehension, but here's what I've got:

 

Michigan State +5.5 vs Boston College: I know. MSU has players suspended. Their offense is one-dimensional, and they'll have to run, run & run some more vs the best run defense in the nation. It goes against all logic. It's my Costanza "Opposite of every instinct I've ever had" play.

 

TCU -4.5 vs Houston: Got this one early, as the line indicates. To me, it looks like the most solid play of the bowl season. Sorry, Horned Frogs.

 

Maryland +5.5 vs Oregon State: Big Ralph does a great job preparing his team for bowl games. Oregon State has really spotty play at the QB position. After seeing Az St, I'm thinking that my feeling about the Pac 10 being USC and a bunch of nothing may be accurate.

Quickly...

Houston lost nearly all their offensive coaches to Baylor recently, and supposedly the offensive coordinator tonight is the Houston defensive backs coach. I don't know how Houston can get up for this game with the mass exodus. This is not a good omen for a purely offensive team. The Houston defense is pretty bad. TCU is highly ranked defensive team which matches up very well with Houston. These teams have played each other frequently in recent years, with TCU winning the last 7 matchups. Houston played an easy schedule and didn't beat anybody. TCU lost to several highly thought of bowl teams, won confortably over bad teams, like Houston. I'll take TCU to blow out this bad Houston team. A good team from a good conference playing a bad team from a lousy conference.

Fock. Spartys left at least 6 point on the field with those red zone turnovers which would give us a 16-14 game. They're a pretty good 2nd half team though so they should still cover IMO.
