Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted January 21, 2008 Line opened at -13 and 54. I called a bookie I have used in the past. He wouldn't give me 13 at first. He called back and gave it to me at -120. I layed 50 units ($500) on it. So with weeks until the Super Bowl I have the Pats -13. I think it will be a trainwreck, Pats 44 Giants

FWIW, I like the points here and would also put a small bet on the Giants ML.

Ras66not99 0 Posted January 22, 2008 my site actually has it at -12 Money Line is also - 475 , +375 which I find a little oddly low for the Giants ? a 12 point line and only +375 seems weird From what I've been seeing lately I can't see how anyone would lay that type of wood with the Pats right now..... I mean they know how to win (that's pretty obvious), but every game is close now.... Giants are playing well man.... I hate them but they're playing with some emotion.... I'm hoping for a blowout, but I only see the Pats winning a close one...

StrikeGold 0 Posted January 22, 2008 It pays to shop around on moneyline bets -- sometimes even on the same site. WSEX has the moneylines listed at +350 (Giants) and -500 (Pats) in its "Straight Wager" section, but gives +426 and -488 in its "Long-Term Markets - Pro Championship" section. Pretty big difference between +350 and +426 ...
TimmySmith 2,782 Posted January 22, 2008 Should be a fairly easy cover for the Gmen unless Eli totally lays an egg. The O/U is spot on, I lean under. These are not the regular season Pats. Home field got them in. These are not the regular season Giants. Even 12 points is 5 too many.
StrikeGold 0 Posted January 23, 2008 Down to -11 1/2 at WSEX ... Right after watching the Giants-Packers game, I predicted the line would be Pats -10 1/2. I was wrong, but it looks like that's where it may ultimately end up.

I was wrong, but it looks like that's where it may ultimately end up. I told my friends the same thing.... 10.5 is gonna be the Bowl line and I saw 13.5 and couldn't believe it was that high.... seemed like a bad line, but it's slowly sinkin..... I can't see this game not being within 10 points, so I'm sure NE will get one of those late INT's to the house or something to cover the line and break the gamblers hearts,,,,, I'm just betting props, so I'd be happy with any type of Pats win ... fock the G-Men

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted January 24, 2008 Interesting article in the Boston Globe today. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr...as_not_pleased/ "We opened the Super Bowl line at 14 and it quickly moved from 14 to 13 1/2, and ever since then, it's been dropping little by little," said Jay Kornegay, executive director of the race and sports book at the Las Vegas Hilton, who estimated that 70 percent of the early action has been on the Giants. .... "It's been very difficult to book these games," Kornegay said. "They're 18-0 and the books have won maybe four of those games. The rest of those games, we've lost on. During the course of the year, the Patriots games have been like mini-Super Bowls for us.

cmkp0819 0 Posted January 24, 2008 That Bookie is laughing his a$$ Off........It is down to - 11 at only regular juice and I see it at 10 1/2 at game time. Thats when I will buy the point and bring it to - 9 1/2 for -125........Ditka, you have to wise up ....see if the bookie will let you buy the wager back for $50.00.......better than losing $600.00 on your $500.00 wager. Pats will win by 10...not so sure about 13......Major Point Spread Difference! Aren't you the one that said you NEVER play a large favorite?
IAMWood 6 Posted January 25, 2008 Gotta like New England to cover here. With two weeks to prepare for a team they just played, Belicheck will own Eli and the giants. New England will dominate on both sides of the ball. the reason the line is where it is, is because how 'closely' the giants played the pats a few weeks ago. give up the points. New England -12. 5 units.
Mad Brad 0 Posted January 25, 2008 I am thinking these two defenses make for an under 54... I owe my man 100 bucks and at this point plan to lay it down on under the number... GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Well, I have to believe Peyton Manning has shared his playbook in depth with Eli with 2 weeks off. Peyton has had lots of critical encounters with the Pats and that has to be a big factor here. I think the Giants will win, but buying 2.5 points and taking the Giants +14.5 is still on the table with me as the super safe option. Have you ever seen a superbowl spread work to the favorite's advantage in superbowl history? I mean the spread moved from Pats-13 to Pats-12 when it should've went from Pats -13 to Pats -14 if the normal trend took hold. This smells like an upset to me. Still deciding on what to bet on the superbowl. I've decided to invest my superbowl money in an earlier game, in an attempt to double my winnings. My early game is college basketball where I am taking Minnesota to beat Wisconsin straight up! I have to win this one, or no superbowl money. If I win, I'm torn between Giants +14.5 or Giants moneyline. Go Gophers!!! Wow, I can't believe I just put my superbowl money on the Gophers. Score... Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted February 3, 2008 This is what I got for today: New England Patriots -13 for $500 Yes, I did jump the gun on this line but I am not backing down from my game prediction. I see this game going 40-13 Pats. Just called the bookie for the rest of my bets and he said he has heavy money on Pats -12 to 12.5 from all his clients. Today he is a Giants fan I assure you. Kevin Boss TE NYG over 1.5 receptions $250 Kawika Mitchell over 4 tackles (solo+assist) $100 WIN Tom Brady over 2 rushing yards $100 Lawrence Maroney over 1 reception $100 WIN Kevin Faulk over 5.5 longest rush from scrimmage $100 WIN Good luck fellas!
