edjr 6,590 Posted February 20, 2008 Does he realize you actually have to DO these things if you're elected? It's not a "Congrats. You win. Here's a 50000th youtube video and 4 unconscious bitches. See ya in 2012. I mean, to even add things like "capture and kill osama bin laden" to your "to-do list" is completely idiotic. Who the fock isn't? Do you honestly think copying the same crap everyone else says counts as having a platform? Honestly. It drives me insane to see a country so focking moronic that they'll vote for who MTV tells them to. Having the cool young mixed guy who talks about hope and how we should all just be people and get along and not have any poor people or wars or racism or political parties is nice and focking dandy, but when you're done rubbing one out on his pie-in-the-sky, reality sets in and you've got to have someone who knows what the hell they're doing, how to do it, and the way things work in the real world where you dont give rehearsed speeches in front of people who'd honestly go tear apart a city if Cap'n Messiah on stage told them to. Jesus. You're going to be a good replacement for me when I retire from this place.

jerryskids 6,798 Posted February 20, 2008 I like to think that the Geek Club has played a small, but not insignificant, role in his proper development. Agreed to an extent. If he had closed the deal with naomi by now, then I would consider our job a success. In the interim, since he sees at a young age that Obama is a walking sound bite... guess it'll have to do. Also, in your negotiations for post transfers, make sure you ask for George Carlin's posts. Not that they were better than the others, but you seem to want quantity, not quality. Rattlesnake 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Hope? His hope was at the start of all this, the American people would be stupid enough to vote for him because of the color of his skin. His hope was right. So now people are voting for Obama BECAUSE he's black?!?!?! Wow, that's certainly interesting.
Me_2006 14 Posted February 21, 2008 So now people are voting for Obama BECAUSE he's black?!?!?! Wow, that's certainly interesting. So Oprah just happens to agree with his policies moreso than any candidate in the entire time she's been famous? It doesn't strike you as a TINY bit odd? C'mon dude. Don't let education reform blind you.
Rattlesnake 0 Posted February 21, 2008 So, it seems like you're saying that you believe that a large number of people are voting for him because Oprah is backing him. Most of the Obama supporters that I know viewed the Oprah "endorsement" as a negative. I know that I did. Her supporting him actually made me feel kind of sick for a minute. No, I'm saying that his most prominent supporter just so happens to be one of the most rich, famous black people in this country and she's never been involved like this politically before. I was using that as an example of him getting the "black vote."
Rattlesnake 0 Posted February 21, 2008 I'm not sure she's his most prominent supporter, but ok. A lot of white politicians get the white vote. Hillary's got a lot of women voting now who haven't in the past. It's the nature of the beast. This notion that Obama's getting by on the black vote is totally false, though. Hell, he's now winning white men and only losing white women over 50.

I've heard people my age (there are like 3 black kids in my grade lol) say that we need a black dude in the whitehouse. They know nothing about politics at all, and their vote will count the same as mine. Because he's black...

I was using that as an example of him getting the "black vote." since when did oprah represent blacks? if i'm not mistaken her show is primarily watched by white women (hence the uproar that she didn't support hillary). AND oprah also supported arnold schwarzenegger. why is it so hard for you all to believe that people just like obama for who he is? what's not to like about him? (acutally i don't like his grey lips)

Because he's black... really? i've heard people vote for bush solely because of his christian values and plenty of women are saying we should vote for hillary because it's time for a woman to be in the whitehouse. once again, al sharpton and jesse jackson ran for president, if being black was all it took then why didn't either succeed? pimptastic69 0 Posted February 21, 2008 once again, al sharpton and jesse jackson ran for president, if being black was all it took then why didn't either succeed? cuz they were no better than your basic thug. Korben Dallas 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Hey, I wanted to make sure I clarified something on this list. This was a summary of Obama's positions by some random person, not the Obama campaign. And I have no intentions of randomly defending attacks. Several people said they didn't know what he stood for and I saw this. Obama has several policy proposals, quite a few considering most candidates all speak in vagueness except on a few key issues. I agree that some of them, like finding Bin Laden are a "no sh1t" when summarized. But I believe that Obama wants to divert and return a large presence to Afganistan and hunt that a-hole down. His criticism is that Bush hasn't bothered. He has a much clearer and details position on his website. btw: I'm not voting for Obama because he's black or I want government control. I don't want Hillary at all and McCain is a opportunist without a backbone, it'll just be 4 more years of the same crap. No thanks.
CantTouchThis 23 Posted February 21, 2008 they said the exact same things heading into kerry v. bush, no way bush could possibly be re-elected. and kerry was even a more qualified candidate than obama. bush carried 31 states and got 51.7% of the popular vote - i think it's entirely possible for mccain to win given the alternative. Yeah, this is true, i don't agree with Kerry was better, but, to each his own. Again, as long as focking HILLARY don't win, i will be fine with whoever is elected. Like i said, McCain won't make things worse, he could prove me wrong and improve the status of the country, if he gets elected i really hope he does. I like McCain, but, i think think Obama is sincere and is going to really try and do everything he promises to do, to me he comes across as a hard-working, really trustworthy guy. I mean, will he? Of course not, does any president accomplish all they say they will accomplish? No. To me, i always got with my gut, instead of over-analyzing every canidate, i just get a read on them, a basic idea of what they are like and how they will run this country. My gut says Obama will be a great president, and i think he will be best for this country at this point in time.
