One guy you've never drafted but would love to

Recommended Posts

Westbrook

had him before.

One guy I never never drafted, because he ALWAYS goes too early: Manning (Peyton). I've always wanted him on my team cause I don't think he's ever put up less than 40 points against me.

Westbrook

That is exactly the guy I was going to say. I am in multiple leagues, and have never had Westy. Maybe it's because most of my leaguemates are Eagles fans and they take him higher than I rank him.

Gates is another player I never drafted. Although I'm a little skeptical this season.

Tom Brady.

Not sure if he's gonna repeat last year's performance, but I'm thinking he should be a top 5 pick this year.

Big question mark b/c I think the Patriots will revert back into a more conventional offense this season (at least mix in a little more run).

Adrian Peterson

Good to see you have seen the light.

(better now than later, I'd say)

I gotta say Westbrook also, all the guy does is produce, yet every year I'm scared of him because of his "injury" history.

Oh, and as a Peyton Manning owner a couple of season, there's really no better feeling that to know you can just pen him into your starting lineup and forget him except for your bye week.

I love Moss and have never, ever, even in minny, had him on my team. I'd say I've been in over 20 leagues since 2000 and I've never had moss.

This doesn't apply for today but I wish I had played when Barry Sanders was in his prime. I'm a Lions fan and loved watching Barry play but was pretty young- I think I really got into FF the year he retired.

As for current players- I'm a huge dork and probably play in too many leagues. I've probably drafted about every player. I'd like to draft Gates at some point- I did draft him once, the year he went off and became an elite player but I drafted him as a backup and traded him at some point during the year.

had the same wish and it came true last year in a 10 teamer when people went QB whacky early then had to scramble for WR and RB later...middle of 5th round and gates is staring me in the face. So I took him in the year he became an "ordinary" TE. figures.

LOL...when was I in the dark on this subject?

A veteran player I've never had the chance to draft that I wanted is Reggie Wayne.

 Never got that chance either. Add Steve Young and Michael Irvin to the list.

A stud QB. I haven't had one since Rich Gannon went off one year.

I'm right there with you. Gannon was my last stud QB, and it was in a league that awarded a point per completion. That offense was money for me. While I've not had a stud quarterback since, it seems that the path to fantasy football glory leads through my keeper roster. Brady, Palmer, Brees -- I've released them all, only to see them blow up a year or two down the road.

A year ago in your rookie scouting profile. You didn't seem that high on Adrian Peterson. I can't remember exactly what it said.

I always go the late value route and try to get 2 QBs back to back late and play matchups. I've finally realized that doesn't work. I just drafted Tony Romo in a recent new dynasty league. And am planning on getting a top 5 QB in my redraft in August.

Yes to Reggie Wayne. Just missed him by one pick last year and took Thomas Jones at that spot. I've never gotten the draft positioning to get him.

I think it's because I ranked him under Lynch

But if you read below from my Impact series, you'll see I was basically on track with the guy, just figured his high points wouldn't be multiple 250+ yard games and Lynch would get more opportunity early.

Here's the snippet

Anticipation…It’s Making Me Wait

Adrian Peterson, Vikings: Let me cut to the chase about Peterson. The reasons he might not start right away have to do with his ability to protect the football, protect the passer, and run with discipline in situations where freelancing will kill his team’s chances from making first downs. Which is true. He only had 9 starts last yearWatch the film and you will see a runner who does not keep the ball close to his body in the open field. You will also see a player who was a liability in pass protection on the perimeter of the defense. This was true about the pass protection. He did a better job of securing the ball and proved to be a hard worker And you will see a runner who made some of the most exciting minimal gains, and 5-yard losses you’ve seen since Walter Payton. Except Oklahoma had a decent offensive line.

But you will also see a runner with amazing balance that is extremely difficult to knock off his feet; a runner with the rare agility to successfully put spin moves on linebackers and safeties for a man of his size and strength; and a runner, when determined, has the sheer will to make yardage when nothing seems available for him to gain any. Adrian Peterson is gifted. When it comes to purely running the football and not getting tackled, I’m not sure there is a back in football I’d rather have. I think that's a pretty bold statement to say about a rookie before he ever played a down in the NFL

Peterson needs to harness his tremendous gifts into becoming a complete football player. When he does, he has the offensive line and complementing defense to help the Minnesota Vikings become a playoff team. I just don’t believe Peterson will put it all together in time to make it happen this year. I think I was pretty accurate thereChester Taylor may not have the natural gifts of Peterson, but he is a smart runner and veteran football player who was the Vikings offense.

Look for Peterson to excite fantasy owners throughout the season with some highlight plays and big games, but provide almost equal doses of frustration as he adjusts to the pace, intensity, and rigors of the pro game. That 49ers effort was one example. Although his big games were far bigger than I could have imaginedThe Vikings will feel compelled to get their big-time talent into the backfield, but don’t expect more than a situational role for Peterson in 2007. This turned out to be wrongAveraging anything more than 10 carries a contest will be a bonus for the Vikings rookie—it’s good enough to consider him as 5th or 6th round pick with upside in a rookie draft in case he works his way into a full-time role by season’s end. This was realistic, too and would have been a nice deal to land him.

tommy maddox, stephen davis, david patteRn

a semi-decent tight end :shocking:

Seriously, I always seem to end up losing to a beast of a TE and the guy who takes the kicker that scores like 300 FP.

past classics---never drafted steve young, marshall faulk, or barry sanders; did draft emmitt smith, brett favre, jerry rice

recent studs---never drafted alexander, tiki barber, edgerrin james, corey dillon, ricky williams, ahman green, or stephen davis; did draft curtis martin and jerome bettis

current studs---never drafted westbrook, willie parker, jamal lewis, mcgahee, gore, brees, fitzgerald, or boldin; always drafted moss and TO :shocking: ; drafted manning for the first time last yr [as mentioned, the comfort and ability to laugh at owners faltering at the position he provides is awesome, and i will target him the rest of his career]

never drafted/never will draft----brady, captain overrated aka ocho nada

would like to draft---braylon, wayne, witten, mcfadden (obviously havent had a chance yet)

Just once Id like to have studs that perform in the playoffs. My team is always a powerhouse and I go down anyway.

In my keeper leagues many guys are only available once. One guy Ive always wanted but either didnt need or couldnt get, Boldin. I'd like to root for him.

AMEN Brudda. I've gone into the season starting the likes of Glenn Foley, who I drafted to replace Testaverde. Vinny was killing me after the TB years and didn't seem to be improving in Cleveland.

Testaverde then threw for 4,177 w/33 td's and his new owner took the SB title............ :music_guitarred:

Westbrook

:dunno:

Every year I avoid drafting him and I say this is going to be the year he hits the wall...

I skipped him and drafted Rudi last year :wall:

I'll draft him this year and it will be his last, watch.

I've never had T.O., I might take him this year if I get a chance.

I've had Moss 3 times, including last year, with Brady

This happens to me all the time as well. That's why I like playing in $100- $200 leagues that set aside about 20% of the winnings for regular season success.

I've has Westy several times and don't want him again after he focked me with that kneel down last year at the 1 yard line :music_guitarred: :( He goes in for the TD I win the league championship that I have long coveted in a league I've been in for 7+yrs

I keep ignoring the guy. The guy doesn't seem to ignore me when my team faces him . . . Maybe I'll catch on at some point and value him a little higher during the draft than I generally value QBs. Doubt it, unfortunately.

Since I finally drafted Randy Moss last year (5th round in 12-team league) as far as current players go, the two guys I've never had and always coveted are Steven Jackson and Andre Johnson. Jackson is a beast; if Andre stays healthy for a 16-game schedule, look out.

For the non-active guys, the one guy I never got to draft was Priest Holmes. Just incredible production in KC.

For some reason I would like to try out Carson Palmer even though their are better qb's and qb's that have better draft value.

landed Westbrook with the 3rd pick in my local re-draft league. Also landed Mason as my #5 receiver who I have also coveted from afar.

I traded for both Addai & Dallas Clark last year around week 5. That was the first time I've ever owned a Colts player in my 13 years of FF. During that stretch, I would've liked to draft Peyton, Harrison or Wayne.

Peyton or LT2. I'm always in the middle of the draft picks 3-6 last 4 years. Either too high for LT2 or too low for Peyton. I will NOT take a QB in round one. Well unless I could go back to last year and take Brady.
