marinerate 0 Posted August 26, 2008 Shaun Rogers, as a Lions fan, I apologize for the fans booing you in the last preseason game. I felt it was a classless act. I do not understand why some people are against you. As a second round pick, I felt you played beyond the level we drafted you. When we traded you, we picked up a good CB in Leigh Bodden and a third round pick as well. Thank you for that. You left without insulting the team and were a class act. Good luck in Cleveland, I wish you well.

yostevo 0 Posted August 26, 2008 I don't see it as an intrusion but why am I wrong? 95% of the NFL would give their left nut to have Shaun's god given abilities and yet annually he wastes his talents by being out of shape and downright pathetic by game 6. He gets taken out of the games at the most critical points of games because the fat fock is so winded. Let's not forget that he was pegged to be a first round pick but a major injury in college pushed him into the 2nd. Was he a value there at the time? Yes. Was he valuable after the fact? Absolutely not. His apathatic behavior and attitude will kill what could of have been a HOF career. He has no excuses. He took what he had for granted and the average guy can't relate to that. He let down his team, his teammates and this city. I will enjoy watching him fail in Cleveland.
bno70_1 0 Posted August 26, 2008 It's classy to balloon to 400 lbs and not be able to stay on the field when you are paid millions of dollars to play. Real classy. The definition of class. Then sulk and sandbag your way out of town. This guy should teach an etiquette class even!

Yea, he was out of shape and didn't live up to his talent level, but it's not like he was a bust in Detroit. There were many games in which he dominated. We have had many picks which were terrible, he wasn't. Plus, when he left he gave up Bodden and a 3rd rounder. So, IMO, he was a good pick. Certainly not booable. With all due respect, you are absolutely rooting for the right team if you accept mediocrity and lethargy. Keep up the good work.

patweisers44 847 Posted August 27, 2008 Yea, he was out of shape and didn't live up to his talent level, but it's not like he was a bust in Detroit. There were PORTIONS OF many games in which he dominated. fixed. and despite that fact, Rogers was a huge disappointment in Detroit. Its like saying Brandon Inge is a good player cause he went 2-for-4 last night. DUMB.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted August 27, 2008 the good news is that rodgers will read this and accept your apology Can he read? Or let me rephrase that, will he even bother to read if the words aren't printed on a menu? Fat, lazy, "talented" D-linemen like him make me sick. Him and Stallworth were some fantastic pickups for an emerging team like Cleveland. They'll be lucky to get 12 combined games between the two of them. swamp dog 0 Posted August 27, 2008 shaun will always be a "coulda" player: he could have been a great player, maybe even a hall of fame player. but he was lazy and instead of working out in the offseason popped weight-loss pills a month before camp started. his nickname (big baby) wasn't a term of endearment. enough said. despite his laziness and caustic attitude, he did manage to play brilliantly for stretches just on andrenaline and talent alone. but when you really needed him to step up and be counted on, he disappeared. i loved last year how he took a powder during the lions two-month nosedive but decided to show up the last game of the season. what a waste. had i been in the stands i would have booed him, too. the lions will be much better this year because of his absence. emartin 0 Posted August 28, 2008 Is Shaun Rogers a talented player? Yes, but only for about 15-20 snaps a game. Is Shaun Rogers a classy guy? Ask the stripper he pulled a gun on and threatened in a Detroit area strip club. The man is a cancer and, as a Lions fan, I'm glad he is no longer with the team. He is a disgusting human being who will wear out his welcome in Cleveland soon enough.
