Week 3 Sleeper Defense/ST

Recommended Posts

Anyone in a predicament similar to mine?

With the Jacksonville offensive not performing, I'm sitting the Jag Def/ST against the Colts.

I'm leaning towards picking up the Falcons Def/ST or the SF Def/ST.

Atlanta should control the clock a bit..imo. Keeping the Chief offense off field and when they're on the field, Thigpen could give up an interception or two, or three.

on the other hand....

Martz should be giving the Def. Coordinator a few pointers on how to stop the Detroit scheme and mess with Kitna's skull.

I don't know which of those defenses will perform better this week but I don't think Martz will be able to give any valuable input re: Detroit's scheme since the scheme has changed since Martz left (new OC, Jim Colletto). If anything, Detroit should be pretty much know what sort of things the Niners are going to run.

Good point. Atlanta's D could be the safer choice, especially with the Chief's implosion and an inexperienced QB.

I'm excited to try out BUF DFS this week against OAK...

Also think that Tampa will have a decent day against CHI!

Still can't decide between TEN and SEA in my big $ league...leaning towards TEN (#1 DFS in the league and they've been on my bench the past 2 weeks!!!)

I know its early, but I think TEN is becoming a must start every week regardless of opponent.

It'd be nice if the Buffalo Def was an option for me. Atlanta and SF seemed to be the best two left.

Titans and Seahawks? That's a tough choice, maybe it's time to start the Titan's. The Texan's have absolutely no run game.

I think until a few games from now, when people will really start to take notice of them as being a great d this year, BUF is a sleeper every week.

I dropped the Colts D and added Buffalo, with McFadden injured Oakland's offense should struggle to do anything vs. the Bills. Atlanta vs the lowly Chiefs is a good option, Detroit has the offensive tools to put up points and yards so SF not as good an option IMHO.

gore might gain 600 yards and the niners def might see a lot of p.t... this won't be the same game you saw the lions play last week against green bay

i kinda like the texans on the road

I'd go for Atlanta over SF.

I was a bit surprised to see Buffalo still on our waivers and would consider them as a sleeper (still not as good as the likes of Tennesse, etc, but...). I've been holding onto San Diego figuring things will get better (believe they've got a good schedule coming up). They scored 4 and -1 points in the first two weeks and don't feel I can wait. I'm going to drop them for Buffalo - anyone see any reasons not to?

...sorry, had done a search on Buffalo and didn't realize this wasn't the A Little Help! board. Well, going to leave my answer/question here for now.

If you can keep the Chargers D and still pick up the Bills D, I'd do it. I wouldn't drop them this quick. If the Chargers turn it around, they'll do it with their D.

Thoughts on the Arizona D in Washington? Its a long haul across the country for the Cards but Washington has been the suck .

This could be a good play and I see it being lower scoring than people might think. The Cardinals D held Portis to 43 yards on 18 carries last year, although he scored 2 touchdowns. The Redskins offense should play ball control, giving a heavy dose of Portis and Betts to keep the Cardinals offense off the field. The Redskins punter, Durant Brooks has been struggling with short, low hang time punts, which could give Arizona's punt returner, Steve Breaston a shot to take it to the endzone.

First game yes but did you see last week? Yes it was against NO but they put up 470 total yards. The offense is clicking.

I have the ARI Def now, but SF is still avaiable............I don't know what to do

I would have to go with Atlanta. 3rd string QB in his what, second game? Larry Johnson is struggling and if you are lucky they may the ball to J.Charles a couple of times, giving you instant fumble opportunities.

i've got green bay for a defense and with them playing dallas this week i picked up the cards off waivers. i missed out on the falcons by one spot (to the guy i'm playing against). i like arizona though i'll use them this week and in week 8 when green bay has a bye.

BuschWack - have you decided yet? Seems like Atlanta still would be the choice... In response to your question/suggestion, unfortunately I'm overloaded at my other positions and can only keep one defense. I hated to give up SD given their potential in the future, but can't take little to no points at the moment. I'll take the chance that I can get them if they start improving.

Now after reading the posts, I'm second guessing taking Buffalo. They did well against Seattle but not too many fantasy stats/points against Jacksonville even with their problematic offensive line. Of course another decent match up for them with a bad qb and less than 100% Mcfadden. Hmmm - could also go for Atlanta or Arizona instead... Aww heck - will stay with them unless someone has solid reasoning to the contrary!

I would have to respectfully disagree with that one. This game has the makings of a shootout. Detroit eats up yards when it falls behind and the garbage time points will hurt.

SF is a great sleeper this week

I plugged in Atlanta and feel pretty good about it this week.

CajunBadger, IMO, dropping San Diego for Buffalo or some other Def this week and then hope that you can pick em up later is a mistake. Keep in mind, the Jets offense is still new to Favre, timing with his wr's is still uncertain. San Diego has a couple INT artists that will take advantage. Stick with em.

everyone keeps talking about atlanta's def, which does make sense considering how kc's offense has looked this year. how about kc's def against atlanta though. matt ryan has about as much experience as thigpen, which is next to none. i could easily see both defenses getting a few turnovers. also don't forget that brandon flowers used to play against ryan when vt played bc. he will probably feel confident knowing he's seen ryan perform throughout college.

The difference between the two is the run game of Atlanta. They've shown to be more explosive with Turner and Norwood. KC couldn't open a hole on a porn set.

Thigpen keeps this up and the Falcons D will have 4-5 picks. Oh ya!
