IAMWood 6 Posted November 19, 2008 Houston, TX off of Dixie Farm road and I-45. $1.69/gal I wish this government was better because I would advocate cranking up the taxes on gas and have the money go directly to: 1. road and bridge improvement (big time waste, fools standing around, crooked politcians, kickbacks,....) 2. Higher teacher pay with smaller classroom size. 23 kids in my son's kindergarten class, way too many. I wouldn't mind teaching but not for the pay and tremendous hassle. 3. Develop alternate sources of energy. I know, I know, damn lib wants to raise taxes, but I don't. Just saying in a perfect world we should. Higher gas prices curb demand. These lower prices will help the economy now though, after the towelheads cranked up the price to help batter it. No matter what I think anyway, politcal suicide to raise the taxes on gas right now. Anyway, can anyone beat $1.69?

IAMWood 6 Posted November 19, 2008 You live down that way? Been spending more and more time in Houston, stay at my parents when I am here, they live in Friendswood, where I grew up. My wife really doesn't want to move to Houston, but it may be more practical, she would see me more.

Jeff Garcia 8 Posted November 19, 2008 $1.64. I did fill up the other day for $1.42 a gallon. I had built up some Safeway rewards towards gas. $18.00 to fill up from empty. 2 months ago it would've been into the $40.00s.

kilroy69 1,268 Posted November 19, 2008 with the price of oil in free fall and the fact that we are not at the bottom of the general economic world crisis we could see gas at closer to a buck a gallon soon or less.
